STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I was always a go-getter! In retrospect, I was always a research oriented, risk taking, initiating, communicative, and creative business woman in the making. In this direction, I have had many hindrances, thought blockages, and difficulties before deciding I wanted to take up the innovative course of Bachelors in Business Administration during my undergraduate studies. I had seen every movie on women entrepreneurship including 'What Women Want' which talks about the female clientele and its psychology, 'Devil Wears Prada' which talks about discipline and sacrifice, and Friends which shows Rachel becoming a working woman on her own. Now it was my turn to write my story!

As a result, I worked hard and achieved a GPA score of 8.2 during my graduation, learning concepts such as organization, execution, planning, output, capitalisation, resource management, client communication amongst others. I also did projects to gain out-of-class learning such as the 'Under 25 Summit Management' wherein I was a part of the core management team, and we had various events related to curriculum and various fun events too. Additionally, I also was in the core management team of [COLLEGE EVENT NAME] (annual fest), which was a big event for the college. Herein, I learnt people skills such as engagement, management, and human resource optimum utilisation. Moreover, to understand the social dimension of business and the ideal structure of CSR, I also was Runner up of [PAGEANT NAME] 2021, a national level beauty pageant which boosted my confidence and also helped my stage fear to disappear.

I also engaged in a number of social work activities including conducting a 15 day workshop of multiple subjects like dance lessons, guitar lessons, coding, graphic designing, public speaking etc., and donating Rs. 40,000 for the COVID Relief Fund amid the pandemic. These activities led me to know more about the economic structure of the world versus the needs of people in addition to the psychology of money.

Now, it was time that I tested my standing in a professional real world setup, as a result of which I took up an internship with [COMPANY NAME], a toy firm based in India, in their sales and marketing department. Here, I did an internship for a period of 6 months in sales and marketing fields. This was my first internship experience and I felt whatever you read in textbooks and applying it on ground level practically is very thrilling and educative.

Graduating from this level of operations to a more advanced one, I took up a job as Customer Relationship Manager with the brand [COMPANY NAME] and [COMPANY NAME] India through campus placements. My role in the company as a CRM is to handle customers in the retail outlet of the company and managing the sales and store as well. I have been successful in completing every monthly target given to me and have also been rewarded with extra incentives due to my consistent behaviour in job and my accomplishments. Here, I also learnt about interpersonal skills such as time management and discipline. However, I learnt one more thing—that I needed to learn more before I could take up the responsibility of an independent manager and truly contribute to the organization I was working with.

I want to take up a degree in the field of Management from an international institution such as [UNIVERSITY NAME]. I am sure the international faculty will train me in the given aspects and will make a good business person out of my framework of mind. Additionally, I am looking forward to interacting with an international student body, attending several seminars and learning on the go through student projects. I would also contribute to the institution through my skill set of dance and marketing as I have been a dancer for more than a decade now trained in classical Indian dance forms, and have been an independent social media influencer with more than 22,000 followers.
