STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

By working in packaging industries for the past 4 years, I inferred that management plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and effortless flow of the process from procuring raw materials to the final product to getting feedback from clients and implementing them in future orders. After having worked with different firms, different cross-functional teams, different customers, and on various projects, during my internships and full-time positions, I have understood that my expertise and interest is in managing and implementing projects and people skills.

Having been born into an economically backward class where being responsible and efficient with all the resources at an early age is a must, I have been working since my 8th grade. That's where my journey begins to become a responsible, well-organized, and troubleshooter person. On a personal front, I am a diplomatic person with an adaptable and influential personality. I believe in making others at ease so that they can be optimally productive. This attitude has bestowed on me leadership, organizational, and risk-taking capabilities.

During my academics, I studied various subjects related to printing and packaging, but there were also subjects related to management like Business Communication, Total Quality Management, Project Management and Entrepreneurship, and Packaging Distribution and Logistics. In all these subjects we got to learn about many strategies and skills such as Six Sigma, scheduling, 7 tools by Dr. Ishikawa, basic principles of TQM, etc.

In the final year of my engineering, I also did a 4-month internship as a marketing intern where I analyzed the market of Latex digital printing machines by [COMPANY]. I conducted surveys and interacted with various industries and firms to become acquainted with the setbacks faced by the customers which were stopping them from buying the machine. I submitted a report to [COMPANY] which helped them for better penetration in the market. I also provided them with a database of their potential customers and sold three machines in just 4 months, which made me realize my influential and jovial character which helped me in the future to become a good leader in my current job.

After completing my graduation with flying colors, I started my career as a QC Supervisor in [COMPANY], which is a printing factory. There I worked in both the raw material and in-process departments where I converted the testing report from paper to digital format. I introduced new factors and parameters in the checking report for better accumulation of data. Even though I was a fresher there, because of my academics, skills, and leadership quality, I used to manage the team of 4 in the absence of my manager. This was one of the reasons behind my interest for top-level managerial positions.

I am currently working as a Packaging Engineer in a startup-based packaging firm known as [COMPANY], dealing with big retailers like [COMPANY], [COMPANY], [COMPANY], [COMPANY], [COMPANY], etc. It's a firm of only 6 employees where we work as a middleman between buyers and vendors, so we have to work from scratch, starting from understanding the buyer's requirement, designing to vendor management to planning, production, execution, and supply chain management to customer feedback. So from the past 2.5 years, I have managed lots of projects, ensured a smooth flow, and executed efficiently by coordinating every single stage and managing my juniors, vendors, and clients. I solved many problems related to workflow, made SOPs to implement, improved the way we present our packaging and presentations, and organized all the data just by a simple Microsoft Excel tool. Working in [COMPANY] has made me realize my interest in management—that's the reason behind applying for a master's.

As I have a wide range of work experience from front-end marketing to designing to back-end data and vendor management, I have a thorough understanding of all departments' workflows. Doing a master's will help me to enhance my management skills further to achieve greater goals and work with big firms instead of just working for them. At the same time, I will get to connect with more different personalities with diverse cultures and new ideas.

Throughout my academics and professional experience, I always felt a need to learn more strategies and skills as I never got a chance to work with big firms. An MSc degree in Management from the prestigious [UNIVERSITY] would most certainly help me achieve my career goal of setting up a successful business in the future by developing management skills. The course structure offered at [UNIVERSITY] is unique in terms of the diversified subjects and optional modules. My thirst for knowledge backed by my firm determination, perseverance, and positive attitude under the wings of experts in the university will help me complete my MSc program. MSc in Management from [UNIVERSITY], along with my current technical stronghold, will also help me to explore opportunities in the dynamic and growing economy of India when I am back home.

I would request the [UNIVERSITY] to consider my candidature and grant me an opportunity to be a part of this course. I would also request the Admissions Committee to consider me for available scholarship schemes as it would be a very big help for me financially.
