STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I have been very sure about pursuing a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from the very beginning. During the course of my Bachelor's degree (B.Com), I organized and participated in various events and fests which made me realise how much I loved managing and creating. I also have a keen interest in starting a business of my own in the future. Business and entrepreneurship have always intrigued me because I feel like there is a sense of responsibility as well as accomplishment in every stage.

During the first year of my college, I also started developing a keen interest in poetry and creative writing. I have written many poems and articles and hold a blog for the same. I have observed a lot of growth in my abilities and potential in the past years of my study.

Working as an HR at [COMPANY NAME] in a campus ambassador programme was my very first experience in an organisation. [COMPANY NAME] is a youth marketing company that connects brands to the young crowd through various promotions and events. I was the Human Resource Head for [CITY] for a year's tenure. Working there, I have learnt the importance of time management and human resource management. It was a great experience and I ended up making a lot of contacts all over the country. I got to work on my communication and persuasion skills. The work was very simple, but it took a lot of talking to convince people in order to enrol and do the job. I have handled around 30 recruitments from [CITY] and a few from other cities as well. We also got to do and manage a lot of surveys and reviews. I realised that I want to do more than managing the human resource. I have come to the understanding that I like to be an integral part of the organisation team.

Building a team and working towards achieving group goals have been at the top of my interests list. Although, B.Com concentrates more on the theoretical aspects of business and finance, it does offer field experience in management and organisation to those interested. I have been more inclined towards these practical experiences and opportunities throughout my three years of degree. This is the very reason why I think that an MBA will fit me the best. A course in MBA will not only help me get better at the skills I have but also will help me in learning new ones. I hope to use these skills in achieving my goals and becoming an entrepreneur on a broader prospect.

I have chosen Canada because it is home to some of the most renowned universities and institutions specially to procure an MBA degree. It not only provides one with many options and combinations, but also has excellent quality in terms of education and job opportunities. The universities and educational hubs are globally recognised and will hold a great importance in one's career. I aim to use the course and the opportunities that will come across to the fullest and give my best for the same.

I have seen a lot of improvement in my personality as well as in my performance in the academics over the last three-five years. It would be of great help if I could get a financial aid since I am a student applying from India and will be self-funding for my education. Post MBA, I will actively seek the placement opportunities offered by the University as well as other companies. I want to focus on the finance sector and pursue a job in the same.
