STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
"The dosage of the drug determines whether the nature of the medicine is to make things better or worse."
When I was five years old, I experienced it for the first time. I was overdosed by a physician and recovered at the last minute, and this is how I related to drugs in my early years. The idea of witnessing a single pill represent years of research and trial, with billions of investments on the move, made me eventually see myself contributing towards making the life of society a mile better. This motivation propelled me to dive deeper into drug intricacies and made me opt for an MSc in Model Based Drug Development from the prestigious [UNIVERSITY_NAME], United Kingdom.
Being the eldest kid in the family, I always had a bag of responsibilities on my shoulder, which actually cultivated my personality into being absolute, decisive, punctual, and hardworking in nature. I always had a tendency to maintain positive relationships with all my peers and professors, and also at the same time would tend to focus completely academically, which ultimately resulted in positive grades throughout my schooling tenure.
Always being a focused individual, I completely participated in various academic project activities. My first project submission was 'Animal Studies for Anti-Inflammatory Activity', where I conducted descriptive research in the field of in vitro studies for anti-inflammatory activity in rats as my final year project. My second submission was titled 'Iontophoresis Nano Drug Delivery for Arthritis', where I worked on the development and research section around the medicated knee brace funded by the Indian government. I had started my research in the second year of my program to improve healthcare by providing a solution for a major cause to this society. Therefore, I intended to publish my work in many international journals, and at last, I proposed a solution for knee pain to the government to fund my project. Fighting off tough competition and being among 70+ teams, I secured 3rd position.
I also have three research publications. The first is titled 'Phytochemical Screening and Antimicrobial Activity of Azadirachta indica and Plectranthus amboinicus Extract', published in the International Journal of Current Pharmaceutical Research, 2020. The second submission was titled 'Screening of Multi Bioactive Metabolites Producing Microorganisms From Garden Soil of [INSTITUTION_NAME]'. The last project research was titled 'A Perspective Overview on Hygrophila auriculata'. I have also attended various national and international conference sessions on Pharmaceuticals, actively participated in national level E-poster competitions where I secured 1st position, and completed a one-month internship program on Entrepreneurship and Business Development. Currently, I am researching my New Gen IEDC project 'Iontophoresis Nano Drug Delivery for Arthritis', which is funded by the Government of India to develop a prototype for my innovative idea.
As I eventually see myself bringing good technical, theoretical, and practical knowledge and experience in this field, I discovered the educational scope and experience within the borders of my native country was highly limited with only a handful of supporting faculties and facilities across the country. Therefore, I soon undertook the decision to opt for an international university, where I would be able to discover and gain achievable pharmaceutical industry experience while building a strong network of relationships across the globe. UK universities have excellent research labs and equipment. Besides, they also provide an opportunity to have hands-on industrial experiences from reputed placement providers such as [COMPANY_NAME] and [COMPANY_NAME], to name a few.
