Statement of Purpose
Growing up in a business family, I had the privilege of being introduced to the concept of management quite early in life. My father once told me that it is not enough to keep a business alive. The only true survival is growth. Management is a skill that is necessary to attain this goal. Therefore, I have always been interested in learning the subject while growing up, because I've always wanted to have a clearer understanding of the business environment. The dynamics of business are more complex now and ever changing. It is essential to possess the accurate analytical, research and technical skills to stay relevant in the fierce competition. Even though I have learned many management concepts during my graduation, I strongly believe that MSc in Management will help further train me to take more accurate decisions that will help my business to grow.
Soon after completing my high school, I decided to take some time off before pursuing a university degree and decided to utilize my time by working in an NGO so as to contribute socially towards the society. After doing some research I stumbled upon a local NGO. I was naturally drawn towards it and volunteering for physically and mentally disabled children brought me peace and joy. It also had a huge impact on my personality as the job required patience, confidence and constant communication. The projects made me more organized and better equipped to work in teams.
After a year of research, I also wanted to further explore business concepts and gather skills that would help me in running our business in a more efficient way, so that it appeals to a larger set of people. Hence, I pursued BBA from [UNIVERSITY_1], [CITY_1] which is well known for its business and management courses. Apart from classroom learning, my projects were focused mainly on marketing aspects of business: in depth research and analysis of marketing strategies adopted by various companies like [COMPANY_1], [COMPANY_2], and [COMPANY_3]. After completing one year of management course, I started getting attracted towards marketing, so I went on to specialize in marketing in my final year along with a special course in digital marketing (in collaboration with [COMPANY_4]).
To understand and apply the practical aspects of my classroom learnings, I decided to pursue several internships. My first internship with [COMPANY_5] was for a period of 8 weeks. It started with a brief orientation where I got to know about the company and its working. I researched about different marketing techniques, processed marketing analytics, supervised and monitored marketing campaigns on social media, researched about the worldwide buying behavior concerning [COMPANY_5] and its competitors, processed fabric inspections and crafting under supervision of the manager. Another opportunity that I got was with [COMPANY_6] where I assisted in various activities such as branding and content writing. I also helped in various social media marketing campaigns held on Facebook and Instagram for clients like [COMPANY_7] and [COMPANY_8]. To further enhance my knowledge and skillset, I interned with [COMPANY_9] where I worked as a Business Development Sales Intern. I assisted the company in lead acquisition where I researched about various organizations and individuals online to identify new leads and potential new markets and built contacts with them.
Recently, because of current global circumstances that caused uncertainty in my plans, I saw the opportunity to invest my time and efforts in my family business, [COMPANY_10]. During this experience, I took part in designing new garments and implementing quality control while interacting with my colleagues and absorbed basic business tactics. Through this experience, my interest in Master in Management has amplified.
These enriching experiences made me draw my attention towards pursuing my master's degree. Therefore, I decided to opt for the MSc Management Course by [UNIVERSITY_2]. This course completes my checklist where I will get to complete a management course in a single year and also it would cover all the primary key elements like finance, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc. A Master's Degree in Management would also allow me to hone the skills required to manage any business in turbulent environments or changing dynamics, which is something that the world is especially going through now. I have always been keen to explore and learn from the students across various geographies which would further help me to expand my knowledge of different cultures and function better in diverse teams.
My passion for management and marketing will keep me motivated for the entire duration of the course. Additionally, my background in management and team projects would help me to stay focused throughout the course. My immediate goal after the program would be to set foot in the corporate world to gather experience and apply my management concepts in the best way possible. In the long run, I would like to help my father in our family business by using the appropriate frameworks and relevant trends to upgrade our operations. Also, this program is a vital step towards my eventual goal of becoming a successful entrepreneur.
