STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Ever since I was a child, I have been constantly exposed to the world of business. My father is a businessman and I have seen him working hard day and night; as a result, despite my young age, I have found myself being attracted to this line. As I grew up, I came to the realisation that the business world is an expanding and evolving arena. To get an entry point into this world, I decided to join the family business in 2019. I was a keen observer of the business during the initial months. All of my observations, queries and answers led me to gain a basic grasp of our company's business. Our company, [COMPANY_NAME], is a corporate apparels manufacturing unit. After the initial observation period, I worked as an assistant to the operations manager. I was part of the team that managed to increase the production rate, and simultaneously, decreased the cost of production. During college, I finished an internship under a company named [COMPANY_NAME]. It offered me a lot of insight into management and professional obligations. But soon I realised that this wasn't enough to quench my curiosity! So, I began to explore the possibility of doing a Master's degree in Business and Management, and eventually decided to pursue MSc in Management and International Business.

I have an ever-lasting love for sports since my school days. Having served as the sports captain at school and competitively playing various sports for many years, including cricket, table tennis and badminton, I was able to develop the qualities of team work, leadership, accepting failures, decision making and problem solving. Sports has always been a pleasant challenge for me, as well as a chance to socialise and meet new people and be part of a team. I have had the taste of winning countless number of times but the win did not come without failures. I remember how I even failed the trials of the school table tennis team selection, but despite that, I was able to turn my failures into lessons and ideas and eventually achieve success by playing the sport at state level. In the meantime, I was highly involved in extracurriculars to broaden my perspective and develop more practical skills. For instance, I was active in the dramatics society and the Rotaract club. From hosting sports days and inter-house competitions in school to planning trips, events, and fests in college, leadership has been my constant companion.

A master's degree in Management will empower me with the right knowledge, soft skills, and network, which is going to place me in a better position to leverage my career than ever before. All those skills are going to help me climb the corporate ladder at a greater pace. Another reason of opting for MSc in Management & IB is that the degree is going to be recognised at a global level, which means that no matter in which country I work after completion of the course, I will be able to put my abilities to good use and leave a lasting impression. I am positive that pursuing this course is going to give me a distinct personal identity and a voice that differentiates me from my peers. This formative experience will also better equip me to deal with complex and real-life situations. Besides, a better appreciation of the practical world and its challenges will enable me to assimilate the knowledge of my discipline and apply it with fresh perspectives. The education system in the United Kingdom has a worldwide reputation, and its excellence is well acknowledged. This is one of the reasons I picked the United Kingdom to further my education. I believe that this programme will provide me with a wide global network and help me establish a relationship with the local business, which will be instrumental in making my dream of expanding our business, specifically in UK, a reality.
