STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Stories have always fascinated me but it is with time that I have come to realize that it is people, not books, that offer the best ones. My desire to understand people's stories led me to step outside my comfort zone and form meaningful connections. Early on, my Business Studies teacher taught us his 3P Formula for building a successful business: People, Product, and Perseverance. The lesson that always stayed with me is that it is the people that always come first, and that the right talent has the power to build and sustain organizations. It enabled me to understand Human Resources as an essential part of any organization. By undertaking Human Resource Management as my major, I would play a crucial role in the growth and development of people and organizations. Hence, I aspire to pursue MSc in Human Resource Management at [UNIVERSITY_NAME] as it will equip me with a strong foundation and sharpen my skills to help me build a successful career.

Academically, I have always been a diligent student showcasing consistent progress while actively participating in various committees and extracurricular activities. While in school, I was the editor-in-chief of my school's magazine - [PUBLICATION_NAME], and I also eagerly participated in sports and cultural events. I was among the founding members of a social outreach program - [PROGRAM_NAME], where we volunteered to teach English and other essential skills to children in rural Indonesia. As I advanced to university, I was a core committee member of a prestigious intercollegiate debate contest: [EVENT_NAME]. I also volunteered as part of the logistics team as a Liaison officer for [EVENT_NAME] (Model United Nations). As a result of these experiences, I gained essential skills such as leadership, effective communication, team building and collaboration, and decision making. With further education, I wish to build upon these to have a successful career in the field of Human Resources.

An essential turning point in my journey as an individual was joining '[ORGANIZATION_NAME]', an international, UN Recognized, youth-run organization that facilitates cross-cultural exchanges for students around the globe. This opportunity enabled me to get hands-on experience in HR domains as I handled the HR processes for 30 members of my department. I managed talent attraction, recruitment, engagement, training, performance tracking, and exit procedures for the members of the OGV department. [ORGANIZATION_NAME] gave me a clear direction to my future and cemented my belief in pursuing Human Resources as a career.

After completion of my undergraduate studies, I landed the role of Talent Acquisition Intern at [COMPANY_NAME]. During my time at [COMPANY_NAME], I gained an in-depth understanding of technical recruitment and the talent acquisition processes. The company entrusted me with end-to-end recruiting for technical and non-technical roles. My work profile included sourcing, evaluating, and hiring potential candidates. In addition to having hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge of the market, [COMPANY_NAME] also offered me valuable insight into professional practices in the corporate world. This added feather in my cap of endeavors affirmed my desire to pursue Human Resource Management.

With the clarity in mind to pursue HRM, I aspire to make a mark on the professional world and pave a successful career as an HR Leader. To accomplish this goal, I must hone my skills and gain essential knowledge of the field. Therefore, I intend to pursue a Master's degree in Human Resource Management.
