Statement of Purpose

In the final year of my undergraduate studies of Electronic and Communication Engineering, I participated in CANSAT 2020, an international Nano Satellite design contest organized by the American Astronomical Society (AAS). While working on the problem of solving space debris issues through creative satellite-design solutions, I discovered the huge potential of my field of study. As I learnt to work with sensors like GPS, Gyroscopic, Arduino, Xbee to calculate various metrics of atmospheric conditions and enhance communication between the satellite and ground control, my mind started racing. For the first time, I realized that engineering is so much more than just a critical occupation. It is indeed the backbone of the most exciting advancements in technology and makes possible the promise of a different and better future. Sectors like smart devices, automobile engineering, defence & manufacturing, space, healthcare, automation etc. all have seen rapid progress with the recent developments in engineering sciences. Thus I have been motivated to pursue advanced studies in Electronics engineering in UK so that I can be at the forefront of technological innovation and research.

My academic journey started off well. As I entered high school, I was awarded a full fee waiver as a scholarship award given to meritorious students. This gesture formed much of the motivation behind my consistent efforts for academic success until finally, I enrolled in [UNIVERSITY_NAME] for my bachelor's studies. Here, I developed fundamental clarity in engineering principles and enjoyed conducting an in-depth study in subjects like Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics and Computer Architecture. The B Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering course curriculum focused on imparting a strong fundamental understanding and developing specialized knowledge and skills in these domains. I conducted research for a project on developing Gesture vocalize for helping speech-inhibited people communicate with each other. Besides learning how to use tools like Arduino, flex sensors, LCD Display etc., I discovered the field of embedded systems. Thanks to other project opportunities I developed a command over computer tools, programming languages, project development and Electronics (Digital & Analog).

The learning ecosystem at college was a vital facilitator of learning opportunities during the whole period of my bachelor's education. This got me selected as a member of the IETE student body at the ECE department; I often helped in event coordination tasks and helped organized departmental events like National Level Technical Symposium and mega hardware contest. These contests were fun and innovative ways to gain new technologies and leading research domains in the field. Also, being an organizer helped me develop crucial inter-personnel, management and leadership skills on the way. To hone my public speaking and leadership qualities, I became a member of [ORGANIZATION_NAME] last year and have served my college club as a Secretary for the year 2020-2021. [ORGANIZATION_NAME] experience has helped me a lot in terms of personality development and as a result, I was selected for the position of Vice-President (Education) for the club this year. Having undergone a great learning experience, personal and intellectual growth in my bachelor's education, I would now like to move ahead towards my academic and career goals. Dealing with a vast number of technological domains and learning about a potential field of research like IoT, Automation, Engineering Design, Novel Engineering Materials etc. have equipped me well to handle a master's level education. Along with skills gained in scientific research, innovation and experimentation, I have also developed a huge academic interest in domains of electronic engineering like Embedded Systems, Analog and Digital Design, VLSI technology etc. After a detailed research on study options, I finally arrived at the MSc Microelectronics: Systems and Devices program at the [UNIVERSITY_NAME] that provided a great learning environment and proximity to the international engineering community. Through this program, I stand to gain advanced education experience in my field of study and thus it is critical for my success in achieving my goals. I hope that as a highly skilled and experienced Masters student I will receive ample exposure and opportunities to take part in leading researches and gain exposure to further specialization domains.
