Statement of Purpose

COURSE: MSC COMPUTER SCIENCE

We are currently in the midst of a technological and computing revolution that will drastically change our lives and potentially redefine what it means to be human. I am very excited at the prospect of devoting my long-term career to such a dynamic, fast-advancing field. Ever since I was young, I have enjoyed dabbling with computers and experimenting with different applications. Because my own life has essentially coincided with the rise of the modern computing industry, I can sense that there are still tremendous developments to come in this field. It was natural for me to choose Computer Science as my university major, and now, as I near the end of my undergraduate studies, it is my central goal to continue my education in a more competitive, elite, and international environment. Thus, I want to pursue my MSc in Computer Science from [UNIVERSITY_NAME].

Being a person who has always had a profound passion and fascination for areas requiring an analytical approach, right from my early days at school, Mathematics has intrigued me. The most challenging of all problems were my favorites and obtaining solutions to them would leave me with a sheer feeling of ecstasy. I always did and always would thrive on solving the most challenging problems. With a compelling desire to excel, hard work became my second nature.

I completed my 10th in 2013 from CBSE board and scored 10 CGPA and completed my 12th in 2015 from the same board with 93.2% with subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, English and Computer Science. My aspiration for a technical career prompted me to take up one of the most coveted undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering at [UNIVERSITY_NAME], the best of such institutions, and completed my bachelors in 2020 with an overall CGPA of 7.70. My own systematic and methodical approach towards finding a solution to any problem best suits this field.

During the first two years of undergraduate study, I studied courses like Theory of Computer Science, Data Structure and File Systems, Microprocessor Based Design, and Computer Organization and Systems Programming. These courses helped me gain a strong background in the fundamentals of Computer Science. These were aptly complemented by the laboratory courses. The challenging assignments that were a part of the laboratory courses helped me to develop the required technical and programming skills. During the last two years of my study, I took advanced courses like Artificial Intelligence, Compiler Design, Databases, Operating Systems and Computer Networks.

I was also enrolled in co-scholastic efforts and co-curricular activities. Even though my main focus was academics, I believe in having proper participation in extracurricular activities and making co-scholastic efforts to improve interaction in the co-working space and corporate world. By the end of my graduation, I had completed 9 internships. Further studies were always a priority for me, but it was my belief that before that I must gather some valuable work experience in order to gain a larger perspective of the industry. It has also helped me in accepting the challenges involved to expertise new domains and new technology, getting familiarized with new concepts, and has developed a sense of professionalism in me. Apart from my academics and work, I have always been very active in developing myself as an individual. I believe that the contemporary lifestyle of the UK would allow me to learn under the best-in-class settings and carve out a niche for myself in my field of interest. The UK has been the chief driver of innovation in computing, and the most innovative and successful companies in this field are based there. Studying overseas in the UK will thus give me not only a greater range of professional skills but also a much broader, more international perspective. Among the various research areas that I researched for the University, I associate myself with Data Security, Data Mining, and related subjects. I have understood from the University's website that there are a number of research labs and centers, specifically the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Research Lab on Advanced Network.

My favorite modules from the course are Data Mining, Neural Networks and Machine Learning, to name a few. I believe these major driving forces of the IT sector would help me to keep alive the momentum of any company and workforce and consequently, benefit the society as a whole. Furthermore, studying at your esteemed University would place me at the right learning platform. Your University is ranked in the top 5% universities in the world and pays major attention to students' overall development through its various student services. The ultimate goal of mine is to make a commendable and constructive career in the field and contribute my bit to society. A dedicated study in Computer Science would help me gain a lot of experience, along with adding to my previous knowledge on the subject.
