STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I introduce myself as [NAME] working as a Project Coordinator in the Marine industry. I am a bachelor of engineering graduate in Mechanical Engineering. My family consists of my father who is self employed, my mother who is a homemaker and finally my younger brother who is pursuing his degree in Computer Science engineering. I live in Kerala which is a southern state of India.

My strong passion towards the stream of Mechanical drove me to choose a three year diploma program instead of the common practice of attending higher secondary education after my 10th standard. More than 6 semesters of polytechnic education at [COLLEGE_NAME] enhanced my relationship with the machines supported by efficient class of faculty and well equipped practical laboratories. The engineering workshops/labs in the first year provided me the basic ideas of carpentry, welding and some other manufacturing methods. The consecutive years had labs which were more focused to my chosen stream.

Another interesting part was the industrial visits. We got chances to directly witness the manufacturing processes and the managerial aspects of an industry. This was an opportunity to learn many more things beyond what a book can teach you. The most vital event of the academics was our project. We as a team of 6 members successfully presented our project "Kinetic Energy Recovery System in Bicycle". The project got appreciations from the evaluation committee and successfully completed the 3 year journey with 7.28 CGPA.

Next, I joined for my bachelor of engineering degree to deepen my budded knowledge in the Mechanical engineering. I joined at [UNIVERSITY_NAME], Tamil Nadu, India which is affiliated to the [UNIVERSITY_NAME]. There I was treated like a senior student among my batch due to my prior Diploma I held. The academics was easy for me at [UNIVERSITY_NAME] but my focus was to do something much more bigger. Two major industrial visit opportunities I got during the program were [COMPANY_NAME], which is the biggest shipyard in India and another one was [COMPANY_NAME] which we visited for our final year project.

Another memorable event during the graduate program was the technical fest we organized in our college. As the event coordinator, it was really a unique experience to interact with students and professors who came from different colleges with diverse dimensions of knowledge & skillsets. I completed the degree with 7.28 CGPA.

As I stated at the beginning, presently I am working as a Project Coordinator in the marine industry and its been a journey of more than two years. This particular job demands dominant skills in the managerial areas and also nowadays every sector is preferring multi talented people to join their organizations for better outcomes. Here, I lack a professional degree to make myself competent for the industry. After consulting with my friends and mentors, I arrived into a decision to do a masters in the management field so that I can make myself eligible for my favourite job positions. I preferred only foreign universities to do the masters since it would enhance me with good exposure and knowledge. And my next task was to choose a suitable country and a university.

After a detailed research on several countries, I found United Kingdom is having many policies to help the foreign students to involve in their education culture through their scholarship programs and a globally reputed education system. UK is having a well established education system which perfectly mould its students through a balanced focus on all grounds of education throughout the country. The another reason to chose UK was its geographical and historical significance which I believe would influence the people around it.

Then I went around to choose the suitable university and my prime focus was to choose a university which provides a standard level of education through multiple levels of training. Eventually I zeroed in on [UNIVERSITY_NAME] to do my masters in Project Management. The curriculum of [UNIVERSITY_NAME] for the project management had excited me a lot as its syllabus is having some interesting topics like People management, commercial and project planning. After completing the studies, my plan is to come back to India and join the marine industry again to work more efficiently as this time I am having a strong base in the managerial domain.
