Statement of Purpose

Media is more than just news and photos; it's about putting what you're thinking into a visual format and turning the most rudimentary concept into something unique. The media plays a vital role in keeping everyone informed about the myriad events that occur worldwide. Its main goal is to disseminate knowledge and data. People frequently believe that working in the media is a simple job, but I believe that entertaining people without losing their attention is far more complicated than it appears. My objective is to shift people's attitudes toward the media to a more positive one.

With that objective in mind, I took the first step towards my dream by taking admission in BA Mass Communication and Journalism program at [UNIVERSITY_NAME]. Throughout my degree, I studied various subjects, which enhanced my knowledge about the field. From the course curriculum, my favorite subjects were public relations, visual communication, television production, print media, and communications. During my graduation, I learned that mass communication is a method of disseminating information to a big audience. The phrase refers to various media areas that include news gathering and reporting, film direction and production, event management, public relations, advertising, corporate communication, and so on.

As I progressed, I indulged myself in a research project called "The Future of Journalism in the Digital Age," which piqued my interest even more in this field. Further, in my college time, I always participated in different events and have always been appreciated by my professors for my leadership skills. Observing my skills, I was even elected as the Vice-president of the college student council by more than 3000 students. This exposure made me realize my full potential and helped me to boost my confidence. Further, I have also remained President of the Film Club. It was not an easy journey as I started from a logistic sub-head and then was promoted to vice-president and later on to President. Though it was tough to reach that position, I learned a lot about the film industry and what goes behind cameras as a member of this club.

I have always believed that practical knowledge is essential along with theoretical knowledge to be a master of any field. So, since my initial year of college, I have undergone several internships. My first internship was in [COMPANY_NAME], where I worked as a PR intern. My second internship was as a photography intern with [COMPANY_NAME], during which I was able to capture some emotional moments and candid photos of people who were experiencing spiritual highs. I was ecstatic when my photos were chosen for the company's next event's banner. Moreover, the toughest internship I had was with a local news station [COMPANY_NAME]; I was a final year student intern in the PCR and met the only lady who aspired to be a Panel Producer among the other interns. So, after being let down several times, I persevered and understood how PCR worked. I have also worked with [COMPANY_NAME] in which I was an intern in the RPO process. This internship was quite different from my area of study, but I believe in exploring new things. So, when I got the offer, I said yes to the internship. I struggled a little at first with understanding the data entry method, but as time went on, my work went exceptionally well, and it became a little easier for me to complete my tasks.

Apart from these exposures, I have also done various certificate courses from different platforms, such as I have done a course on Public Relations and Digital marketing from [ORGANIZATION_NAME] and [ORGANIZATION_NAME], respectively. All these internships and certifications were helpful, but I didn't get the chance to learn about production in specific. Studying master degree in Media and Communication with professional placement from [UNIVERSITY_NAME] can broaden my learning horizons and allow me to study even more, as they say; there is no limit to knowledge. I wish to work as a production assistant, communications expert, or assistant director in the media industry, and this course curriculum will help me to achieve this objective. This course provides a multidisciplinary perspective on the evolving media landscape, from mass communication to the new digital age. The course not only enhances and builds on individual experience as a media user or amateur content creator, but it also increases awareness and understanding of how media shape the world we live in today and how humanity will evolve in the face of Artificial Intelligence and environmental concerns. I'll go over various aspects of the media industries and professions, such as strategic communication, media production, public relations, marketing, and advertising, digital art, creative writing, and various other topics relevant to my personal interests and future career paths.

I will get the opportunity to study from highly qualified and experienced professors, which will aid me in obtaining my life goals. Also, this university has been awarded by Teaching Excellence Framework, which clearly illustrates the quality of education I am going to receive.
