STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

It takes me back to my reminiscences of childhood to describe my enthusiasm for Engineering and how subconsciously it became a part of life. Like any other kid, I used to have lots of toys to play with, and my favourite was cars. When I was twelve years old, I was very fond of playing with racing cars. Gradually, I started liking the design and structure of cars and always wondered how they might have been made? What might be the process to drive a vehicle before it's ready to hit on roads? Recognizing my inclination for machines, my parents motivated me to discover this subject and pursue a career.

During my Undergraduate studies of Mechanical Engineering, I came across many subjects and topics as a part of my syllabus that I was inclined more to future design and manufacturing of machines. My graduation study includes topics like the basic concept of thermodynamics, solid engine, metallurgy, kinematics, control systems, and coding. Under the guidance of my professor [PROFESSOR_NAME]-Design and Manufacturing, six sigma professor ([UNIVERSITY_ABBREVIATION]), I learned how to design and manufacture Hybrid Electric cars and Sports cars, Ultra efficiency Aerodynamic cars, optimization design of Cars, study of different power train technology and Battery Management System, Static and Dynamic analysis of Vehicles, Chassis design, and its Stability. These Concepts have challenged my traditional understanding of Mechanical engineering by showing me the broad spectrum of its applications.

I performed several related projects and experiments to explore the fracture and strength of material to be chosen, like aluminium in different shapes, such as plates, rectangular bars, and cylinders for designing a vehicle's chassis. These experiments made me realize understanding the mechanics and behaviour of materials when the failure occurs (Dynamic load conditions and static) to advance design Optimization and improve them at stability, shape, and material level.

After discovering my interest in Mechanical engineering research, [PROFESSOR_NAME], R&D Dean, Professor at [UNIVERSITY_ABBREVIATION], offered me a position as a research assistant during the year 2020. I was given an opportunity to design and develop a Low-cost Ventilator for this Covid-19 pandemic situation, where I successfully created a low-cost Ventilator. In this ventilator, I adapted modern 3-D printing Technology to manufacture different designed components used in it. I also made a mechanism to suck and pump the air through the BVM bag and supplied it to the patient. This first Research gave me an insight into the researcher's world and an understanding of designing concepts and manufacturing capability required in the medical equipment's.

Another project I worked on with [PROFESSOR_NAME] and Professor [PROFESSOR_NAME] involved Designing and developing a 3D printing Industrial Robot that is Patented. I am currently working on this project. This subject has attracted me not only because it's an industrial-related project but also because the different manufacturing capabilities and limitations of manufacturing and industrial requirements to create a product helped me understand design optimization. I learned to use finite element tools to determine the critical loading condition on materials from this Research. These researches taught me to be more required by investigating the outliers of engineering's standard rules in design and manufacturing.

Because I wanted to dig deeper in design and manufacturing, I participated in SHELL ECO-MARATHON INDIA 2019 competition that challenged me to design-build and energy-efficient vehicle where I was team manager and leader. Through this competition, I gained deep knowledge in the electric vehicle field. I had participated in a prototype battery-electric car segment, during which I designed an Aerodynamic body and lightweight chassis design for this competition, I also learned the dynamics of the vehicle, Battery management system (BMS), dynamic and static forces acting on the vehicle, a carbon fiber body manufacturing, and battery and motor design. This experience has taught me teamwork and team management, and communication between industrial people.

As for my final year project, I am currently working with [PROFESSOR_NAME], a design and manufacturing six-sigma professor from [UNIVERSITY_NAME], on Gas Turbine engines. This topic has influenced me not only because of thrust problems but also because measuring and simulating the various performances in different conditions is one of my favourite topics and its challenging and surprising nature. Although engine thrust is not a primary function or measurement goal, the engine augmentor acts as an appropriate high enthalpy environment for technology demonstration. The augmented assembly is easily removed if not required for the test objective. This project involves building a ground-based gas turbine engine (GTE) with modularity as a critical design consideration for all the components. The aim is to measure the primary performance, engine health, and safety parameters required for safe operation. Through this research study, I learned that thermodynamics, heat transfer, and vibrations are of particular importance to engine design. I have also known how to design gas turbine engine components and manufacture them accordingly. From this research, I learned new concepts regarding the JET Propulsions and aerodynamics.

I am also a student member of the [PROFESSIONAL_ORGANIZATION], where I gained knowledge in Minerals, Metals, and Material Engineering and used it in many of my projects and Research.

To test my knowledge and skills, I have taken a few internships to understand my field precisely. I felt that though I have done Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with several projects included, I lack somewhere to reach the optimum level in my niche. So I want to pursue a Master's degree in Advanced Mechanical engineering at your university. Modules like Engineering Psychology a Human Factors, Advanced Finite Element Analysis, Spacecraft Dynamics and Control, Computation Fluid Dynamic Analysis are unique, and they will teach me different aspects of Engineering. Master's program will give me a strong understanding of concepts in various fields, which will enhance my adaptability to new projects. Additionally, the exposure to industry-applicable projects will provide me with experience developing relevant skills. Further, I want to continue my studies in research fields and Ph.D. programs.

Master's program at the [UNIVERSITY_NAME] offers a broad range of advanced subjects that will develop my knowledge across the Mechanical engineering disciples, industry advanced engineering techniques, and gaining in-depth expertise in Research and academic, that will enhance my career and help achieve my desired goal for research work.
