Statement of Purpose
Childhood days spent amidst electronic toys paved my path towards mechanical engineering. I was often fascinated to see the mechanisms involved and therefore would spend my time disassembling them, rather than simply playing with them. Furthermore, my uncle who is an engineer by profession often took keen interest in enriching my knowledge about various structures and machines. Hence I was constantly awestruck, motivated and inspired. My unconditional passion for science and technology could be clearly noticed since my school days. I was often chosen to represent the school at various state-level science projects and science talent exams. My undergraduate days exposed me to a plethora of subjects as well as trained me in many life skills. I carried out various projects using ARDUINO and sensors like obstacle avoiding robots and mobile phone controlled robot cars to name a few. During my freshman year in college, my team and I researched about the Maximum Power Point Tracking charge controller, a technique used to regulate charge of the battery bank so as to use solar energy efficiently. We worked on the idea and built its improvised version and presented it at our college annual fest "[EVENT_NAME]". In the second year, my team and I worked on a fully functional semi-automated four-way hacksaw machine that won the second prize at "[EVENT_NAME]". A semi-automated four-way hacksaw machine can simultaneously do four cutting processes, hence reducing machine time. The mechanism is automated and thus reduces labour problems. During my final year of bachelors, as my course project, my team and I conducted a study on the "Mechanical and Tribological behaviour of structural steel". This project aims to throw more light upon the tensile strength, bending and wear behavior of the structural steel under different parametric conditions. To make my projects more appealing I learnt design development software like AUTOCAD, SOLIDWORKS and I am currently learning CATIA. Apart from academics, I was also a part of the college football team and represented our Alma Mater at the state level. These experiences have enabled me to master my time management skills, prioritize my commitments, improve my interpersonal skills and most of all, carve my own niche.
To acquire a wider and deeper dimension of knowledge about how processes go about in the engineering industry, I worked as an intern for a period of one month in [COMPANY_NAME], a mechanical company based in [CITY] that deals with manufacturing of industrial equipment, from its design to its fabrication. Joining a Master's programme will also be an ideal platform for achieving my vision of optimizing productivity and innovating products or processes that are essential for the betterment of our society.

This pandemic, though uncertain in many ways, gave me ample time to introspect, learn about advancements in interdisciplinary nature of Mechanical Engineering and look out for many courses, thereby enrolling myself into various courses such as 'Python Programming Language' course by [PLATFORM_NAME] and also 'Robotics', a certified course under NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) carried out by the premium technological institutions of India. Further I have also tried to be up to date with 3D designing using SolidWorks software. All keeping in mind the competitive world and my constant desire to cope up with the current world of interdisciplinary nature of the Engineering world.
During my graduate study period at [UNIVERSITY_NAME], I have planned to take up projects that would help me provide technical knowledge and also pursue internships to expand my exposure to Mechanical industries as a whole. This will assist me significantly in my ambition of organizing a team of like-minded individuals and establish a start-up that would have an objective of providing better Human-Robot interface, increased application of AI and hence make Automation efficient and economically reliable for medium and small industries to adopt.
