Statement of Purpose

My interest in fashion derives from a number of factors, including my university studies, my work experience, and my education. I believe brands to be more than simply strategies for companies to sell their products and I believe that everything that is good deserves to have a name and to be recognized. A good brand is an assurance of quality that can be strengthened over the years. And London has always been my dream destination.

Over the years I grew up I became passionate about fashion which led me to take up Fashion Design as my undergraduate degree. With that one hand came the thought of doing a masters in my dream country which is well known for Fashion hub. I understood the need for acquiring the competency in fashion and have done the courses so that it takes me one step closer to my career aspiration. As well with the changing technology and businesses all across, one needs to have a strong educational background and international exposure to the market to flourish in any sector.

My passion towards fashion industry grew as I learned more about it which is one of the primary reasons why I chose to do a postgraduate program in luxury brand management. I have nurtured a dream of becoming a part of a luxury brand top firm where I will have a thorough knowledge of both designing and management of brand. I am now looking to advance my professional skills and a rewarding and successful career.

Upon completion of my graduation in Fashion Design, I have had a passion towards fashion and design with addition to not only designing I also learned colour theory and worked on multiple fashion shows to understand how the world sees fashion. It admired me more to work on what I love. Research in fabrics, history of designs and colour theory has changed the way we see the world around us. Though my undergraduate study has given me a good exposure to the breadth of the concepts of designing garments right from getting inspired to understanding the concept of balance to bring in the final output (garment), I never had the opportunity to fathom its depths.

To stay motivated in the fast-changing world, one requires the ability to look beyond present. So after graduation I started to learn more about the different types of design making on the fabric. I took courses on Aari embroidery, machine embroidery and web designing to keep up with the virtual world of designing. I also worked on the project which involves "Prism"—Garment construction of 5 female Indo western outfits. There I learned the collection of all my understanding in the concept of colour theory to construction on garment from the main source of inspiration. "Prism" the light reflector was my inspiration for this collection and derived from the scratch of mind mapping the aspects of prism.

I have been a part of extracurricular activities including showcased my design in "Life is a Label" fashion show held in [VENUE_NAME], Spectrum fashion show held by [INSTITUTION_NAME] and [CITY_NAME] Fashion Premier Week 2016.

I am presently working with [COMPANY_NAME] as ML Data Associate (L3) and handling large scale structured and unstructured data from internal and third party sources. I am also a part of the projects named Helptool support where we are supporting virtually to associates in need while working from home. While working, I have received certification on Bias for Action and How to Approach a Project—"Flex trained on project basics."

I am a person who carries a problem-solving mindset and always keep my team's interests before my own when it comes to collective decision making. I am the one who believes in teamwork and immediately pitches in to solve the necessary problem by involving necessary teammates and address the issue as soon as possible. I have received appreciation for approaching the problem with an innovative mindset and solving the problem with diligence.

I gained theoretical knowledge using online resources and other internet sources. While exploring this domain, I found myself attracted more towards different techniques and tools used. This course of masters has all the subjects required to gain maximum exposure to the domain and develop a sense of the topics. It would help me in further understanding the areas of interest within this field.

A master degree of luxury brand management will be my pathway of becoming the Fashion Marketing Manager of "[BRAND_NAME]" in the near future.
