While growing up I didn't know what I wanted to be. Sometimes it felt as if I would make a good pilot and the other time it felt as if I would make a good architect. Whenever my uncle visited he would ask me what I wanted to become and I would have different answers each time. As a hyperactive child my attention would shift from one thing to another within minutes. This one incident however stuck with me. We were living as a joint family up until I was in seventh grade, so whenever there was a fight amongst us cousins I would act as the mediator and try to provide solutions and observing this my Mom said that I would become a good lawyer and that thing resonated with me. It was always going on in the back of my mind up until I decided that I want to actually pursue law.
Being reared and cultured in an environment that dealt secularly with academics, I found myself carefully entwined with interest in academics. Due to my academic record in high school, I was, by default, meant to study Engineering. I was sent to a hostel outside my state for the first time which was a scary situation for me but in a way it gave me independence. While I was pursuing Engineering I tried really hard but couldn't succeed and somewhere I knew this is not the right field for me. It was then I understood why people used to say that one should pursue what one is passionate about then only a person can succeed. So when the time came to choose my undergraduate programme law was all I could think about. It was nothing but a constant battle to try and acknowledge law as a definitive path for myself. With time, I found myself working and figuring my direction and knowledge out so I could pursue this interest as my career. The struggle of switching experience from technical to the legal field filled me with lots of knowledge.
After my senior secondary course I decided to do B.A.L.L.B - The Bachelor of Arts - Bachelor of Legislative Law (BA LLB) course is an integrated law degree. I opted for this course as this course paves a way for Law subjects with subjects like Political Science, Sociology, Legal History. These subjects provided a way for me to understand law better, it made me see where law originated and helped me in understanding legal subjects in a better way. The programme encompasses integrated course study relating to areas of Contract law, Intellectual property rights, International law, Civil Law, Criminal Law, Labour Laws, Environmental law, Indian Penal Code, Constitutional law, interpretation of statutes, Corporate Law, Drafting course, Jurisprudence, Evidence Law, Administrative law and law case studies, moot courts, law internships, seminars and interactions with retired judges from High courts and the Supreme Court of India. This diversity of subjects has helped me finish various programmes in this industry. It has made me versatile and passionate about more areas than one. Come Graduation, I am well versed with the Knowledge, concept, base and skill which will qualify me to offer effective and viable legal solutions.
