STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

"At bottom, robotics is about us. It is the discipline of emulating our lives, of wondering how we work." - Rod Grupen. These words truly catch the essence of robotics. The way robotics is extensively used in the modern day and age, it has traversed beyond the fields of special use case scenarios and are often used in day-to-day activities. My interest in this field was kindled at the young age of eleven when my father took me to [ORGANIZATION_1]. Here I witnessed a plethora of technologies like robots and spy fighter drones which find their usages in special commando operations. I also got to see some technologies used for public usages and researches for [ORGANIZATION_2]. I have strived to expand my knowledge in this field throughout my life by exploring beyond my curriculum. I would like to continue this endeavour of mine and a Master's programme in Robotics would be immensely beneficial in this process.

My family has been encouraging and supportive of all my efforts to acquire more knowledge and enhancing my skills. My father is the most inspirational individual in my life for his servitude in the Indian army. He has instilled in me the qualities of kindness and hardworking. He is always helpful and never speaks ill about others. His frequent transfers have helped me to improve my communication skills and thinking differently as well.

Academics have been one of the most prioritized aspects in my life. I have been sincere about my studies and always tried to excel in them. I have qualified my tenth grade from [SCHOOL_1] in 2013 with a score of 8.4 CGPA. I have completed my twelfth grade from [SCHOOL_2], India in 2016 with 68.16% marks and with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science as my primary subjects. I continued with the science stream and got admitted into a Bachelor's programme in Mechanical Engineering. I completed this course from [COLLEGE_1] in 2020 with a score of 7.11 CGPA. During the coursework, I acquired proficiency in AutoCAD, CREO Parametric, CATIA, ANSYS, GD&T, Python, C++, MS Office, PC Assembling & OS Formatting. These skills would be of immense help in my professional sector in the future. I enjoyed creating and simulating three-dimensional structures. I had the opportunity to experiment with resource production, environmental protection, and alternative energy systems. Besides the core subjects like Mathematics and Physics, I enjoyed studying about Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Electrical Drives and Controls, Automobile Engineering. My undergraduate programme has extended my comprehension about the field and has cultivated in me the urge to continue learning with higher studies.

In order to get a better comprehension of the concepts I had grasped in class, I have worked on projects and interned with an organization. My project was on Effective utilization of waste plastic oil derived from municipal solid waste by catalytic pyrolysis in a CRDi engine along with oxygenated additives. The internship was an implant training on Vehicle Assembly Techniques conducted by [COMPANY_1]. These experiences helped me witness the practical applications of the theories taught in the class and better understand them.

In addition to my academics and internship, I have consciously put in an effort to actively participate in extracurricular activities. I have participated in Go-Kart (National level competition) and have completed it as a runner-up. I am also a member of [PROFESSIONAL_ORGANIZATION]. These stints have helped me to enhance my leadership abilities and communication skills immensely.

I have worked in [COMPANY_2], an exhaust company, as a Quality Trainee Engineer. I have faced challenging situations in this role and have successfully overcome it. This made us work more intensely to meet the demands of the exhausts for this model within a shorter time frame. We not only reached the targeted numbers but also did that without any compromise on the quality. This experience taught me to be persistent and not to lose hope even in the most difficult of times.

Having completed my undergraduate course and acquired some amount of real-world experience, it would be the most appropriate time to proceed with my higher studies and expand my horizons in this sphere. Pursuing a Master's course in Robotics from [UNIVERSITY], UK would be immensely assistive in bolstering my skillset. Exploring the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Robotics, human-robot interaction, Robotics Control, and programming methods for Robotics would be paramount for excelling in this field. Studying amongst some of the most brilliant students worldwide and being guided by some of the most effective faculty members in this discipline, would without any doubt, assist me in thinking innovatively and enhance my analytical capabilities, both of which are of the essence in aiding me to carve a niche for myself in this sphere. This course would enable me to get into some reputable company and climb up the ladder in a smoother and more efficient manner.
