Statement of Purpose

Globally, computers are expected to solve virtually all problems. The field of computers encompasses a wide range of subjects, and once we become immersed in it, there is no lack of learning opportunities. The way computers work has always fascinated me. Today, computers are considered to be battlefields. People are attempting to misuse technology. Our data and privacy are extremely valuable. We want to make sure they are protected from unauthorized access. Considering this made me wonder, "How do threats to such a large amount of data get past security measures? What are the steps required for ensuring security?" Information Security is one such course in which students can gain the skills and knowledge necessary to protect their identities. Since then, I have developed an intense desire to master such a challenging course.

As a student, I have always excelled in school and was in the top 5% of my class. The combination of my analytical capabilities, coherent abilities, and love of mathematics helped me earn a 9.0 GPA in my tenth board and a place in my intermediate class with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as my major subject. In my Intermediate, I received a score of 93.8 percent. After completion of my intermediate degree, I was confident in my interest in Mathematics and Technology. My decision to pursue engineering was solidified by then, and I sat for my state-level entrance exam. My application was accepted by [UNIVERSITY_NAME], which is affiliated with [UNIVERSITY_NAME], a prestigious Indian University. The field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering appealed to me and I embarked on my bachelor's degree program. My academic project involved studying the load flow of a 6-Bus system using artificial neural networks.

In June 2018, I completed an internship at the [ORGANIZATION_NAME]. There, I learned how to model missiles using software, such as Matlab, Simulink, and others, and observed their practical application. In this internship, we implemented computer tools to apply electrical engineering concepts. It is an excellent example of the influence computers have had on other fields of engineering. I have also interned at [ORGANIZATION_NAME], where I learned Machine-learning using Python and competed with my team on a project named "Analysis of Indian Liver Patients Using Supervised Machine-learning with Python," which was chosen by my mentor, and with all of the teamwork and software language foundations. I completed the assigned project and was the winner with the most accurate results. My team spirit as well as my commitment to learning and presenting my best is apparent here.

While Electrical and Electronic Engineering is one of the classic Engineering fields, some of the conventional methods are still used. They rely heavily on computers and technology to enhance their efficiency, which is what I found particularly fascinating. Despite my expertise, I realized it was not enough. As a result, I self-taught several computer languages and eventually joined [COMPANY_NAME], as an Application Development Associate. I worked on a variety of projects and managed services for [COMPANY_NAME] after joining the firm with knowledge of ASP.NET Frameworks, PowerApps, and Dynamics365 for Operations. Cybersecurity was introduced to me at a workshop, which inspired me to learn more about it. Several of the security approaches impressed me, especially the need to protect data and eliminate vulnerabilities. After a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided to pursue my MS in Information Security at [UNIVERSITY_NAME]. It is here that I can learn and master concepts such as Foundations of Cryptography, Wireless Network Security, Cybercrime investigations, etc.

As part of the Master's Program, I will study various topics connected to Information security such as Trust Computing, Cryptography, Network Security, and Cyber-Physical Systems and learn about their roles and importance in the profession. Through this course, I will have the opportunity to meet individuals who will be mentors on my professional journey and increase my knowledge and network globally. By gaining mastery and skills, I will be able to achieve my career goals.

I consider obtaining an MS in Information Security at a prominent and world-class university such as [UNIVERSITY_NAME] to be one of the best career decisions of my life. It is admirable that you provide world-class facilities, advanced infrastructure, lecture rooms, and labs for your students, and that you prioritize quality over quantity. Your academic programs and courses will propel my career, as they will not only stretch my abilities but also provide me with the support I need. The field of Information Security provides countless opportunities for learning and employment that never run out. I find that this curriculum provides what I am looking for.

"Never stop learning, Never Stop Growing" - [PERSON_NAME]. To me, this statement speaks volumes about my personality. As a curious person and avid learner, I am always watching and taking note of what is going on around me. I consider this to be one of the most important characteristics of any student or researcher. Throughout my life I have been dedicated to the pursuit of great things, and I am certain that, with the aid of the master's degree, I will be able to cultivate all the necessary abilities and further perform to meet your expectations and standards. I am excited to be a member of such a distinguished institution.
