STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am glad to introduce myself as [NAME], a resident of [CITY], Andhra Pradesh, in south India. I am 26 years old. I completed my SSC in the year 2010 and secured 8.0 CGPA, followed by MPC in the year 2012, securing 92.7% from Council of Higher Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh. I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from [UNIVERSITY] in April 2016, securing 75%. I have been working in [COMPANY] as a DevOps Engineer since October 2016.

I gave a seminar on biometrics pertaining to "Types of Fraud Detection" in the real world, for which I received praise from my professors. Moreover, that provided me opportunities to discuss with all the students in the department and I received appreciation from the head of the department. I presented a paper on "Internet of Things" at [EVENT NAME] (a national-level college fest) conducted by [COLLEGE].

My interaction with computers started with the Paint application during my school days, where I could create various shapes and paint them. The applications on computers and the Internet left me fascinated. I gradually moved on to the 'BASIC' language and learnt about the functionalities of computers and worked on 'C' programming during my summer vacation after the Intermediate schooling. This inculcated in me an interest in the field of science and technology. I took mathematics, physics and chemistry as my major stream in my intermediate level after my 10th standard. My diligent work, natural aptitude for mathematics, and good logical thinking helped me to secure a seat in [UNIVERSITY], one of the most reputed colleges in Andhra Pradesh, India.

At [COMPANY], I have been working as an App Analyst for the last one year. I learned a lot of things from my team members and I had the opportunity to resolve a lot of issues and received appreciations from offshore and onshore managers many times. The support that they gave me inspired and encouraged me to work more efficiently. I had come across many issues in the database in the project, which caused major outages for the e-Brokerage application such as "database server connection lost", which required a restart of the data server during business hours and inability to retrieve the data.

Once we had a major outage, where none of the customers were able to place their trades on the site because one of the database engineers had unfortunately deleted the tables from the database. We did not analyze the issue for 1 hour, and later we noticed that the issue was in the database. We had to depend on our primary database engineer to fix the issue, as the knowledge gained in my undergraduate studies was not sufficient to analyze the issue and work on it.

The two challenges I faced in my college and office made me think, and I realized that I wanted to work on databases without relying on anybody and when I face such situations in future, I would like to sort it out and resolve the issue which could help the organization to avoid financial loss. Overall, this experience contributed towards my current interest in Data Science. I feel that I would enjoy the challenge of being a Data Engineer in future.

I always wanted to go for international studies. After completion of my Graduation, I searched for a better international destination and course that is of my choice and that gives me a better opportunity to get a well-settled future ahead. Universities worldwide have seen a constant rise in the number of Indian students enrolling for a degree away from their home country. I searched and found the U.K. to be the best option for my international studies. It is known for its education system across the world. World class education is provided with a handful of international experience that helps to build a good career after the completion of studies.

I see myself as a Data Engineer in future because they can focus on larger datasets and are tasked with optimizing the infrastructure surrounding different data analytics processes. Data Engineers will play a crucial role in society in the future.

My career is my passion to which I hold full devotion, dedication and commitment. To add more value to same I have decided with the best thought of doing my further studies from a reputed university, which would give me not only a good education but also a new style of learning with international studies, innovative methods of self-development skills and the ability of survival among the first. In Data Science, there are enormous job opportunities available in the IT industries or government organizations. Career scope in the field of teaching is also bright for candidates having a Master's Degree in Data Science.
