Personal Statement

"Finish school then get married then get settled" has always been a tried-and-true formula for an archetypal woman in my society, my community, my village. "A girl with big dreams" with a slight undertone of uncertainty and hesitation replacing with hope as I finished my Bachelor's degree to become the first woman in my village to hold an Engineering degree. I now feel a strong responsibility to my younger sister's generation, to the younger generation to pave the way, make way to a possibility of young successful women capable of achieving against any odds.

Mathematics and Statistics are some of my favorite subjects in school. I was fortunate enough to be selected to lead my class for our Science Club during my school year. Making projects for the science fair and attending International Mathematics Olympiad were my main affairs. During my Bachelor's degree, it introduced me to different areas. One of the particular subjects I am very much influenced by is programming. It became a pass time hobby for me to be in front of a computer and code. Now with each passing year, my interest has grown manifolds. I am particularly interested in studying Data Science since I realized that it can be used to develop marketing models and that companies these days are starting to analyze big datasets to measure consumers' product preferences and make use of it to determine their future sales. Combining my favorite subjects Mathematics and Programming I am so keen on studying Data Science.

While studying bachelor's degree, I was doing my fair share of internships like everyone else. One of the prominent ones was when I did my internship in [COMPANY] which was Government of India sponsored. There I learned about Wireless communication and IP networking. As for extra-curricular, during my college years, while managing several cultural fests and science fests, I was exposed to various environments and learn how to organize one. Being from a minority tribe in India, I was exposed to diverse cultures and given opportunities to show my ethnicity during that time.

After graduation, I was seeking new technologies. Seeing the ups and downs of the economy in the market right now is very fascinating. During Covid-19 the whole world economy took a very interesting turn. The new management of several campuses in the workforce is a challenge for any Multinational Organization. It includes resource allocation on an international scale. Efficient Trans-Cultural Management across the employees holds the key required for the effective functioning of any multinational organization. The thrust to uptake such challenge above had prompted me to look for new avenues to explore. With this level of understanding, I would like to introduce myself as a prospective graduate student seeking out to extend my academics by pursuing an MS/Master's program in Data Science.

I have completed my Bachelor of Engineering degree towards the end of 2018. While waiting for the graduation certificate I started applying for jobs. I started my job around early 2019 till mid 2019. I have learned many of the responsibilities while working. One of the many is how to converse with different people and becoming flexible in every aspect. During lockdown in 2019 and 2020, I was very much fascinated by Data Science and AI. Therefore, I took online certified courses from [PLATFORM] but then I crave more. I wanted to dig deeper so I wanted a professional master's degree course from a reputed university. So here I am chasing after my passion. This course will provide me with deep into the business world and considering my technical background, I will be a preferred one for the course.

Why do I choose to study in the UK? A simple answer would be to become the pride of my village. To get to be in the best place in the whole world. The first and only choice to do my master's degree is at UK-based universities. The UK has dream universities for many students in my place. I had many senior students in my college who were talking about going to the UK many times. I also wanted to find out what was all the hype about and the result was undoubtedly positive. It is impressive to find out how diverse and distinct the universities of the UK are. Among all the other countries in the world, UK-based universities stand out the most in every possible way.

As business becomes increasingly globalized, students like me need to get a global perspective on business. When I study at your university, I will be able to learn not only the exclusive course content at a world-class university but also gain familiarity with intercultural communication. These skills will enable me to better accommodate future jobs or research, giving me the tools that I will need to enable strong decisions and forge new paths. If given an opportunity, I assure you my dedication, diligence, and my desire to excel would allow me to make a remarkable contribution to the university.
