Statement of Purpose

[PERSON_A], once quoted: "Technology trust is a good thing, but control is a better one." I firmly believe that [PERSON_A] has encapsulated the very essence of the qualities of security over technology. Being a graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, I worked on many projects with my classmates and peers. Through these projects, I realized that I have a natural ability to lead. Furthermore, I have observed that in order to compete and stay ahead in the competitive career market, it is important to attain a higher degree in managerial studies to learn and apply the knowledge and skills to achieve the level of security. Considering the utter need of security skills in technology and to make cyber problems less effective to the technology through higher studies, I have decided to apply for admission for the course of Master of Science in Cyber Security at [UNIVERSITY_A].

# My Journey

Hailing from the small town of India named [CITY_A], also known as [CITY_NICKNAME] in India, I live with my mother and a younger sister. My father is a military personnel and has always been an inspiration for me to excel in my studies as well as in co-curricular activities. His achievements and career have always motivated me and provided a greater learning experience. My mother is a homemaker; she has always taught me that being a privileged member of the society, it is my duty to contribute in terms of education, awareness, and feeding the poor. My younger sister is pursuing her studies and is equally inspired by our parents.

During my undergraduate studies, I worked on various technical projects such as an RC Car using microprocessor (IC AT89C2051) and an Arduino-based voice-controlled car performed with other teams. All these projects were performed with different teams and under different conditions where I have always been elected as the team leader for my abilities to communicate, provide clear instructions, manage resources, and demonstrate foresightedness.

While focusing on my career after my Bachelor's degree, I started working with [COMPANY_A], which is my client, and my vendor is [COMPANY_B] as a Senior Associate. In this process, I am working as a Content Reviewer (Admin) with a team of 10-15 employees, and more depending on the workflows. We eliminate content by reviewing, judging, and actioning accordingly to the policies. Moreover, I have acted as a Team SPOC who makes all team members updated and leads the team to achieve the productivity and quality which is our main priority. This has made me understand the need and safety of social media and technology.

Every business and job has various aspects that run simultaneously with the sole aim of achieving the target in the most productive manner. Though I have gained knowledge and experience from my Bachelor's degree and work experience, I have come to know how important it is to have security in technology. I believe that in order to attain new career heights, I need to understand each and every aspect of security in technology, such as decision making, cyber issues, computer hacking, risk and operational aspects of cyber security, and increase my technical knowledge in the field. As I counseled with my career guide and also performed thorough research, I came to the conclusion that the course of Master of Science in Cyber Security at [UNIVERSITY_A] fulfills all my career needs, such as exposure to security studies, enhancement in cyber security skills and knowledge, international exposure, and opening up new potentials for my career.

# Why the United Kingdom?

Moreover, the country itself has a great history of welcoming people and students from different cultures and ideologies open-heartedly. Being an English-speaking person, I believe that it would be much easier for me to adjust to a new environment along with other aspects in the UK, and hence there will be no distraction for me during my studies.

# Future Plan

After gaining the required knowledge and capabilities, I would like to come back to my home country as my current employer and other employers have promised to re-hire me with better remunerations and designation with cyber security roles. My plan is to gain experience in order to grow in the field of cyber security with appropriate skills and take my education to a new height where I can compete at a global level.
