Statement of Purpose

The last couple of years have been one of the most eventful in recent history, owing to the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting surge of technological integration in our lives. As this inevitable transformation of our relationship with technology goes on to drastically change our future in a direction that is exceedingly dissimilar to and often swiftly substituting conventional practices, I find myself exceptionally motivated to be a part of this exhilarating yet gripping digital revolution.

Throughout my lifetime, I have seen the meteoric rise of technology from a black and white television to smart glasses by [COMPANY], which is essentially a system on a glass frame. Having come so far in bringing technology to the forefront of our everyday activities, it is almost second nature to us today to use cutting-edge innovations for even the most mundane tasks. Getting access to my first PC at the age of 10, I started an extraordinary adventure with computers that would last for a very long time. My inquisitiveness, coupled with my knack for experimentation, led me to pick up Computer Science as my undergraduate major, which heightened my curiosity further, turning it into my passion. It is only natural for me to apply for my graduate studies, to cultivate and harness my abilities at an international level.

Initially, I started my college studies, taking courses such as C Programming, Data Structures, DBMS, Object-Oriented Programming, and Core Java to create a solid foundation and build upon it to forge ahead in my pursuit of becoming a better programmer. With my persistent efforts coupled with my never-say-die attitude, I consistently delivered in many Computer Science courses over my four years at university, thereby attaining O grades (Best Grade in University) in several of them. Furthermore, undertaking several lab classes in conjunction with practical implementation through projects, I started developing a keen aptitude and an overall perspective for development, debugging, and maintenance. In the quest to surpass my limits at the moment, I embarked upon the journey to learn, tinker, and try to the best of my abilities to master state-of-the-art technologies like Machine Learning and Cloud Computing, which will most probably continue for the foreseeable future.

Being a core member of the Cloud Computing Skills Group, I took up the mantle of leadership to envision a coherent yet comprehensive plan with concomitant learning processes to carry out preparation for State Cloud Skills when we were without a sound plan of action. The result was seen in our performance in the State Cloud Skills, where we performed well and advanced past the initial rounds while simultaneously passing our AWS Cloud Practitioner Certifications.

After graduating from college, I joined [COMPANY] as an Intern Analyst, where I have been working as a Full-stack Developer, which has provisioned me with knowledge in React and Node while giving me crucial experience in the industry. This experience has not only developed my technical abilities but also imbibed me with much-improved interpersonal skills.

Doing well in academics alone wasn't fulfilling enough for me, which led me to venture into several extracurriculars and socio-cultural activities, thereby broadening my horizons while comprehending the poverty and suffering many of my fellow citizens undergo every day. Not being quite musically gifted, I did try my hand in one of the classical Indian musical instruments named Tabla, which entailed consistent practice and tireless commitment. Enduring the process helped me become more patient and steadfast in terms of adhering to my decisions.

I have actively participated in the Debate Club, where we discussed various socio-economic and cultural issues, molding my attitude and view towards the downtrodden in our society, which awakened empathy and a real zeal within me to help in their upliftment. After the devastation of my state [STATE] in the 2019 and 2020 Cyclones, I volunteered along with some of my friends to distribute food and donated blood, through which I came face to face with people's misfortune and striking poverty. Understanding their hardships and the accompanying predicaments often exacerbated by natural disasters gives me even more reason to educate myself and succeed in a professional capacity, to enrich and give back to my community.

Having undertaken four years of exhaustive yet rewarding undergraduate courses with relevant experience in my field of study, I see myself on a robust platform to further my knowledge and consequently concoct a gainful career in the IT Industry. Being thoroughly motivated to work with the newest developments in the technological world, I seek to utilize these to propel my career. Moreover, I would also like to create employment and opportunities for people who have found it hard to come by through startups down the road. Finally, I would like to utilize the plentiful availability of democratized knowledge in the field to make use of and devise innovative solutions.

Therefore, I am applying to gain admission into the Master's Degree at your University, which I believe will be a perfect fit for my current abilities and will subsequently enable me to develop upon it to enrich my skills. In addition to imparting me the right tools, expertise, skills, and experience, the course will also open doors to immense possibilities in the software development arena. What is more, this education will foster my dexterity in handling complex development processes in a professional capacity.

Studying overseas will not only give me a wide range of professional skills but also much-needed international exposure. Such experiences will ultimately help me evolve into a well-rounded individual capable of contributing significantly to the industry and the community.
