STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Today, the era of technology and computers are becoming a way of living. Everything has technology in it from morning till evening, and we cannot even think about surviving without it. This idea of technology integration into our life always fascinated me, and my interest in STEM subjects clubbed with love and passion about it is the practical element in the whole course.

I still remember I was five years old when the computer was introduced to my life. I was very fond of playing games on the computer, and slowly I began to like the technology so much that I was willing to learn more about it. During that time, kids of my age were learning about the peripherals of computers. I learned to type and explore software like MS Word, PowerPoint, Notepad, and Excel. I learned how to edit the Windows Registry to give myself extra lives and bonus points in various PC games or change the source files and assets of the game to include my favourite character in a particular game and then kept learning from there. My inclination for the subject gradually took shape as my career goal. After completing my high school in science stream in a CBSE board, I chose Bachelor in Information Technology as my undergrad studies.

I have secured a CGPA of 9.12 in my bachelor's, and this made me realize that there is no other field than computer science where I can have a bright career. I have not only developed projects involving mini-applications and interactive games but also delivered seminars on topics like Computer Graphics and game development. My significant contribution was in the internship project 'Online Assignment Management System' at [COMPANY_NAME], in which I handled the backend of the project, worked on APIs, microservices, and jobs. Technologies like Angular4, NodeJs, MongoDB, and ExpressJs framework were used to implement our application, which was later successfully deployed on AWS cloud through one month of free hosting.

Another mini project I did was 'Traveloholic Website,' where I used HTML, CSS, Javascript & SQL. Other projects include 'Hangman Game' using JSP & servlet, '3D Archery Game' using Blender, Java & SQL, '3rd Person Shooter Game' using Unity3D, Blender & JavaScript, and '3D VR Model Viewer' using Unity3D and Blender which helped to view a model in VR headset. Presently, I am working as a Junior Software Engineer in the same company. I am a part of their team that works on its CRM product called [PRODUCT_NAME].

Besides all my academic project work, I was also working on my personal projects. A few include the Hangman game, 3D Archery game, and 3rd Person Shooter game. I also regularly participated in workshops and attended seminars and TEDx talks. I have completed certifications in Parker Solar Probe issued by NASA, Database and SQL for Data Science published by IBM through Coursera, and Introduction to Game Design issued by [INSTITUTION_NAME] through Coursera. I have attended seminars to develop and grow my knowledge and personality. I learned about becoming a leader in a session on Developing Leadership Qualities by [ORGANIZATION_NAME] and learned the technique of building a robotic arm with hands-on experience in a Workshop on Haptic Technology by [ORGANIZATION_NAME]. Besides this, I have also delivered a seminar on Computer Graphics.

I wish to pursue even more in the computer science field and explore courses I could not learn during my undergraduate education. Now I feel that to grow in this field, I must pursue a Master's degree. A Master's Degree program will allow me to gain in-depth knowledge about the area and thus help me hone my skills and understanding of the subject to my interests and help me advance my career tremendously. I aim to understand the field and the subjects better and later utilize the same in any industry. I aspire to work for large enterprises in their backend department in a leadership position.

I have learned from the University's website about some research labs and centres, specifically the Centre for Cyber Security Research and Research Lab on Advanced Network. Being a part of your University will be an achievement that would motivate me towards my career goal. Your University has a strong rapport between the industry and core communities of the department, which is beneficial to both the University and the student. I needed a platform through which I could gain the specialized knowledge necessary to be desired by the top organizations in the field. I feel that I am ready for advanced studies in my subject. My ultimate goal is to create a commendable and constructive career in the area and contribute my bit to society. A dedicated study in Computer Science would help me gain a lot of experience and add to my previous knowledge on the subject. I am hopeful that I will get a positive outcome from my admission application. I will be able to do justice to my studies, dreams, and myself.
