STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

In a significant career plan, considering my academic background, ability and career objectives, I have opted for research oriented graduate program in Computer Science Engineering. It is my firm belief that only specialization in one's field of interest would unleash one's creativity and talent to contribute something original to development of Science and Technology. I believe pursuing Masters in Computer Science and Engineering at your acclaimed university will help me to attain the highest level of education and it will hugely impact my portfolio of knowledge and expertise.

Computers have made an indelible mark on me right from my school days. School made me realize my potential and what I was capable of. I was very grateful to my mentors who emphasized more on practical knowledge and all-round growth. During my high school days, I was overwhelmed by programming concepts which seemed very interesting. Projects using computers filled me with enthusiasm. This childhood interest has had a significant impact on me for it did instill in me the sense of inquiry and curiosity in practical work.

I have excelled in academics at every step in my education. Throughout the twelve years of schooling, I have always been ranked among the top 5 of my class. I secured a good score of 95% in my 10th standard. My interest in Mathematics prompted me to join in pre-university course with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as core subjects and I completed my intermediate with 92.2%. I secured 24,836th rank in Pre-Engineering Test called [EXAM_NAME] among 6,50,000 students. So, I got a good scholarship of around 75% of tuition fees in my graduation and successfully completed my Bachelor of Technology with 8.73 CGPA at [COLLEGE_NAME], an Autonomous college affiliated to [UNIVERSITY_NAME]. My undergraduate record is consistent through all the semesters, though I was more interested in some of the courses and their practical applications.

My undergraduate program has given me a strong background in the fundamentals of various Computer Engineering subjects like Operating Systems, Data Base Management Systems, Object Oriented Programming, Computer Organization, Computer Networks and Software Engineering has helped me a lot not only theoretically but also practically. During this time, I also learned programming languages like C and JAVA. The skill of developing programs and a simple manner of solving difficult issues with logic attracted me and sparked my interest in programming. My keen interest in the above subjects has motivated me to take up further specialized studies in this field. By the end of the 6th semester, I got an opportunity of internship to work as a trainee at [COMPANY_NAME] in association with [COMPANY_NAME], where I was first introduced to the professional working environment.

With my keen interest and vast knowledge in programming languages, I was placed at [COMPANY_NAME] which is one of the topmost MNCs in the world. My career with [COMPANY_NAME] played a major key role in gathering my technical knowledge with my capabilities in skillfully managing tasks, time, and people. At [COMPANY_NAME], I got a fabulous chance of working on Data Analytics project which dealt with Big Data concepts. PowerCenter, one of the major ETL tools, made my work so easy and it was a great learning process. It was so fun and exciting to learn PowerCenter tools. I came to know that it had a great journey to go ahead and build a delightful career since a fresher will get a rare chance to work on this domain. Currently, I am working as an Informatica Developer at [COMPANY_NAME].

My academic pursuits have not prevented me from participating with interest in various extracurricular activities. In addition to the courses I have taken, I have been quite active outside of the classroom. I organized a couple of events like Engineer's Day, On-Campus Drives and Farewell at my college. I played a key role in organizing the [EVENT_NAME]-2019 in my department which requires coordinating with all the departments of College. And also, I have always been passionate about activities like Writing, Driving and Gardening which are stress relieving. When I was handling my B.Tech projects, I needed help understanding some algorithmic principles, so I asked my professor for guidance and looked up similar books. While working with them, I discovered that my knowledge was inadequate for advanced-level projects. I need a much better understanding of the ideas to construct real-time projects. As a result, I opted to pursue a master's degree in Computer Science to improve my technical abilities and competence in subjects that I learned during my bachelor's degree and to have a head start in my professional career.

I believe that my academic credentials, willingness to accept challenges, and ardent desire to pursue a career in programming would qualify me for admission to the graduate program in the department of Computer Science.
