STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Being born in the era of the information age, and being a contributor to the field of software engineering and innovation with the desire to forge ahead in this sector has motivated me to pursue a Master's degree. I am someone who is well acquainted with the technology, see it as a significant extension of my skills which has the potential to take me forward to the next level of my career. I have always been a dreamer who is fascinated by the analytical and logical side of things and striving for excellence with all my strength and will. The dream of excelling more in my career by strengthening my knowledge and gaining advanced exposure to necessary skills has driven me to the doors of [UNIVERSITY_1] to pursue a Master's in Computer Science for the forthcoming intake of Fall 2022.

Right from my foundational academic years, I always had a dream of becoming a software engineer as I have an avid interest in computers and programming. After scoring 81.57% in my secondary education, I opted for Computer Science and scored 93 in my higher secondary with an overall 76.8%. Although coming from a small village, but from a supportive family of engineers, have always encouraged me to chase my dream. I delved deeper into technology by getting admission into B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at [UNIVERSITY_2]. I have toiled to be an exceptional learner which produced an incremental slope of my CGPA in every semester and resulted in 8.29 DGPA in my undergraduate.

Besides learning, I always prefer to utilize the knowledge and be productive, which led me to become a freelancer in website development and graphic designing during my college days. I have been an active participant in coding ("[EVENT_1]") and technical ("[EVENT_2]") competitions hosted at my college and also volunteered in the technical fest. Apart from the technical knowledge, having the sense of designing got me selected as the student creative head and designed the college magazine ("[PUBLICATION_1]") cover for 4 consecutive years, designed the logo for [ORGANIZATION_1], and been part of many creative works at college.

During the graduation, as a core programmer, having a keen interest in learning and utilizing the knowledge of data structures, algorithms and optimizations had led me to be a research assistant at [UNIVERSITY_3] under the HOD of computer science, where I learned and implemented the Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for different metaheuristic energy-optimized cluster head selection problems of the wireless sensor network. Alongside, I also implemented the project entitled iris flower species identification using Machine Learning.

These four years of my engineering introduced me to Software Engineering, Web Application Development, Database Systems, Networking, Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, and other important subjects. I discovered the nuances of programming and kept myself close with the proximity of the practical field I am willing to pursue. During an on-campus job drive at my college, I got selected as an intern by a startup called [COMPANY_1], where I started my professional career after the end of the 7th semester of my B.Tech.

During the internship, I picked up a free-hand project with a team of 7 people, where I developed a portal for employees and HR. I proved myself as an excellent performer with the skill of quick adaptability to technology, by which finally, I got a permanent job offer from the organization. After learning the insurance domain along with the existing software framework of the company, I was fortunate enough to face one of the leading insurance companies of India as my client where I delivered real-life software solutions in the insurance domain as a Software Developer. With the gathered knowledge of real-time industry projects and best practices of Software Engineering, I switched to another project named [PROJECT_1], where I developed an entire ITSM application from scratch with a team of 5 people and successfully delivered the system to the client.

By starting my career in a product-based startup, I acquired plenty of knowledge in that 2.5 years of my career, and with all my proven skills, I got selected as a Software Engineer by [COMPANY_2], the global leader of medical technology, where I got extensive exposure to the healthcare domain specifically in cardiovascular where I am part of a project named [PROJECT_2] where I am working remotely from the [CITY_1] (India) office with the [COMPANY_2] [CITY_2] ([CITY_3]) resources and contributing to the various device apps of the patient monitoring system for [COMPANY_2] pacemakers, where [PRODUCT_1] is one of the flagship products which is the smallest pacemaker in the world. It's bliss to be an engineer and contribute to human welfare by alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life. I am also a full-stack developer of the [COMPANY_2] in-house project named [PROJECT_3] which is impacting globally within the organization by providing a seamless onboarding training experience to the new joiners.

The USA is the realm of technology and the most desired destination for students from across the world because of the quality of the education system, impeccable infrastructure, and availability of exceptionally valuable internship opportunities. While working at [COMPANY_2] I found it very interesting that how technology is effectively being used in the medical domain. I earnestly look forward to completing the Master's degree from the [UNIVERSITY_1], as the esteemed institute provides an advanced curriculum focussed on computation and software engineering that can lead me to contribute to human welfare more innovatively where I will be innovating new medical s/w or applications that will save more patients life. This course will not only enable me to work in the same domain but also unleashes the potential to work in other product-based organizations, including the finest tech elite commandos like [COMPANY_3], [COMPANY_4], [COMPANY_5], [COMPANY_6], where I can acquire valuable experience by making a significant contribution to the business and experience the complete lifecycle of a product. I also consider this degree as a route to research work that I yearn for in the distant future.
