From a decade of Mopeds and Scooters, on which I spent most of my childhood for commuting to Self driving Vehicles, technology has progressed beyond the expectations. In my course through graduation, witnessing advancing technologies that could possibly change the way we live, I developed a feeling that imagination is the only boundary to develop new technologies. Working on projects outside the scope of theoretical learning made me reflect on the concepts that are yet to learn. For instance, developing a stent implantation model in the field of Bio-mechanics during my final year project made me know about the regression analysis and simulations, which was a black box for me until. This constant learning of new concepts has kept me intrigued and motivated me to keep exploring new technologies. My frequent interaction with professors and research students has given me the clarity to apply the academic knowledge in a practical sense.
They instilled great courage in me by backing me to participate in various National level events like Robo-sapiens, BAJA etc., BAJA, where I led a team of 25 members in designing and fabricating an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) which is Durable for rough conditions with Safety factor being our prime concern. This is when I realized the odds for safety in the field of Mechanical Industry and after few months I came across a situation where I lost my dear one due to losses incurred in Cultivation. This intrigued me to find solution where we can drastically minimize losses and lead towards better economy.
Agriculture and farming are one of the oldest and most important professions in the world. Computer Vision in agriculture brings reduction in cost, time and manual errors, accurate results, lower dependency on human intervention, non-destructive techniques, and real-time results for better decision-making. Precision farming combines the best soil management practices, variable rate technology, and the most effective data management practices to help farmers maximize yields and minimize spending. AI can provide farmers with real-time insights from their fields, allowing them to identify areas that need irrigation, fertilization, or pesticide treatment. Then I realized Machine Learning, AI with its innumerous divisions can help us find solutions to all my fascinations about making Agriculture a profitable practice.
In addition to being a focused academic, I balanced my scholastic efforts by participating in extracurricular activities. After joining as an undergraduate, I had the pleasure of making some really amazing and supportive friends. They offered me a tremendous scope of up scaling my abilities. Even my position as president of collegiate club, student coordinator of our department was reinforced with their collective work and support. The experiences and situations in my college have given me enough confidence to handle challenges and encouraged me to take up new ones.
After completion of my graduation, I got an opportunity to work as Engineer at [COMPANY_NAME]. This job brought forth its own set of challenges giving me an opportunity to learn multiple technologies. During this time, I came across the applications of Big-data analytics, control system design and Automation in solving the major design and industrial problems. This is when I took a professional course as Certified Data science and Analytics engineer where I became well versed with Python, programming with R, keras, scikit-learn, Machine Learning open source frameworks, Neural Networks etc., My intention in choosing these courses is their potential in solving major problems based on the data analysis and pattern mapping. I further want to research on how those can be used to predict future outcomes and on improving living conditions.
