Statement of Purpose

I will never forget the first time I received a mobile phone in high school. It was a keypad phone that I used only for playing games and making calls. Today I own a smartphone that I use for almost everything. The fact that technology has taken over every aspect of human life is fascinating. I realize that mathematics and programming are the pillars of technology which can help solve complex real-time problems. By working on different aspects of computer science throughout my undergraduate, I realized that expanding my knowledge in this field could provide theoretical and practical expertise to boost my professional career. Hence, I intend to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science at your esteemed university.

'Foundation of IT' was a part of the curriculum during my schooling and I was fascinated by HTML and CSS. It was the first time I learned about programming and logic and decided to pursue it in the future. In addition to this, Mathematics and Science were my favorite subjects. My hard work and perseverance helped me score 10 CGPA in my class X. This inspired me to pursue Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in my intermediate, during which I secured 98%. I was introduced to electronic devices and wanted to learn about their core components and the logic behind their ability to communicate in-depth. This fascination led me to choose a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from [UNIVERSITY].

After joining Electronics and Communication Engineering, I realized that I was more interested in mathematics and programming than other subjects in my curriculum. Hence, I started learning courses such as Machine Learning, Database Management System and Operating System to improve my knowledge in the Computer Science field. To get a good grip over programming, I solved problems from online coding platforms like [PLATFORM_1] and [PLATFORM_2]. I also did certification in Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms using Python and Internet of Things from [ORGANIZATION_1] and CCNA from [ORGANIZATION_2]. All of these subjects continued to strengthen my fondness for Computer Science.

During my bachelor's, I designed a traffic monitoring system using image processing in Python to control traffic signals based on the density of traffic in each lane. This project gave me a deeper insight into different image acquisition and edge detection techniques. The project also dealt with helmet detection using machine learning algorithm for face recognition. I published a manuscript entitled 'Dynamic Traffic Control with Density Estimation' in the [JOURNAL] based on the traffic monitoring system. To learn about databases, cloud and mobile applications in real-time, I designed a Fall Detector and Notifier that aimed to detect the position of the accelerometer sensor and send the location from [HARDWARE_PLATFORM] to [CLOUD_PLATFORM] and then to the [MOBILE_PLATFORM] mobile application. This improved my knowledge of object-oriented principles and cloud computing. Since August 2021, I have been working in [COMPANY_2] as a Java developer. My work involves scaling and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes and deploying them to the cloud. I learned Java-full stack development and received Azure cloud certification too which made me realize that there is a need to enhance my expertise and exposure further by pursuing Masters in Computer Science.

Apart from this, I was an active member of the [CLUB] club of my college and organized events such as coding competitions and quizzes. One incident that I can recall is the time I had to organize a programming quiz for my juniors and host the event through which I enhanced my organization and management skills.
