"Never Stop Learning" is a principle I have pursued since I was a child. I was always the inquisitive one, exploring the things around me and understanding the mechanisms and science behind how things work. I have nurtured this same attitude to this day. This curiosity ignited my passion for technology. I believe that the purpose of human existence is to make the world a better place for future generations, which I believe can be achieved through technological advancements. Through this Master's program, I hope to acquire new skills and gain comprehensive knowledge in Computer Science, which will be highly beneficial in my future career with a reputed global company. My long-term goal is to become an entrepreneur in the field of Computer Science and seek to solve the burning issues that directly impact society and human life.
An ingrained love for solving problems that challenge analytical and logical thinking right from my childhood has motivated me to pursue engineering. This ceaseless drive made me top the secondary education with a commendable performance in the highly competitive Joint Entrance Examination in 2018. It presented me with an opportunity to pursue undergraduate studies in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering (E&ECE) at the [UNIVERSITY], [CITY], one of the best engineering institutions in India. [UNIVERSITY]'s comprehensive curriculum provided me with the flexibility to go through a plethora of courses and the chance to learn and collaborate with some of the greatest minds in the country. During my sophomore year, I engaged myself in various workshops on Robotics, Machine Learning, IoT. With my contribution to these diverse fields, I have gained a variety of experiences and perspectives. But of all, Machine Learning ignited my enthusiasm to explore more and delve deep into the area. This drove me to take up my BTech Project under [PROFESSOR NAME] in the domain of IoT and Machine Learning.
For my BTech project, I worked on IoT for Air Quality Monitoring. I developed an IoT-based system that senses and collects various aspects of air, with an aim to help us determine air quality. I had to do literature review to understand the shortcomings of the existing research and come up with my ideas to solve them. I developed the circuit board design from scratch and did not use a development kit because it occupies more area and has unnecessary components which leads to higher cost and space wastage. To complete this objective, I have used chemi-resistive sensors integrated with a microcontroller connected to the WiFi module for data transmission. I have also integrated machine learning algorithms on the data collected to predict the future quality of air. This can help us control the air quality and take preventive measures before it goes out of hand. This was indeed an eye-opening experience for me to apply machine learning principles to solve real-world problems. Besides, this was also my first step towards research, through which I got insights into how research papers are written and published. I successfully completed my research project and defended my results and conclusions in front of reviewing panel. Developing my own design or approach for a challenging problem and presenting it to the professors helped me gain enough confidence to develop any new feature that might come up.
In my sophomore year, I was introduced to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence through various workshops and online courses from [UNIVERSITY]. This initial exploration motivated me to do an internship in the field of ML at the company [COMPANY]. Later this experience helped me get selected as a summer intern at [UNIVERSITY] under [PROFESSOR NAME]. I have always been fascinated to explore machine learning applications in the Healthcare domain.
