STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

"Computer Technology is so built into our lives that it's part of the surround of every artist" - Steven Levy. These words hold so true in the modern day and age. Computers have become prerequisite in several tasks and have made them efficient and easy to perform. From my very childhood, I had a proclivity toward computers and things related to it. I always aimed to be proficient in computers and proceed with it professionally. For this reason, I believe a Master's programme in Computer Science from some reputable university like yours would be the most suitable for the fulfilment of my aspirations in the professional sector.

My parents are both pre-university graduates and come from humble beginnings. They aspired to pursue their academics but their financial situation did not give them the liberty to follow their dreams. For this reason, they encourage me to continue with my academic endeavours. They have been a source of inspiration for me. They trust my judgement and never deny me anything necessary for my studies. Enrolling me in college was a big challenge for them and they had to compromise on numerous grounds to get that done. I wish to take care of them for the rest of their lives by succeeding professionally.

I have always put in sincere efforts in my academics at all levels and tried to excel in them. My particular strength in quantitative and analytical abilities has piqued a special interest in Mathematics and Physics. I have studied my intermediate levels from [EDUCATIONAL_INSTITUTION], [CITY] with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as my primary subjects where I scored 97.8% marks. Seeing an email pop up on a tiny computer screen that too at the very point of time when it is sent, left me amazed as a 12 year old girl. I was astounded by the fact that the much smaller objects called electrons are capable of doing such wonders. Growing into high schooler, I learnt that I can explore all the facts necessary to understand the muses of my childhood through Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE). My formal engineering course provided me with an all-encompassing comprehension about the specific discipline and instilled in me a desire to explore the subject even further. I scored a CGPA of 8.3 at the end of the course.

I have enhanced my knowledge about the field by taking part in projects and internships. The project titled "Route Planning Algorithm for Package Delivery System" was during the final year. This project was an initiation into the real-world aspect of this discipline. This project required various discernments from the data and also involved Big Data in some aspects. It was then that I discovered my immense proclivity toward data and became cognizant of its significance. This realization manoeuvred me to decide on delving deeper into the field of Computer Science in the subsequent academic levels. In the course of time, I have self-learned C, Python, SQL, Data Structures and Algorithms, out of my pure interest in Computer Science.

I have been an active participant in extracurricular activities throughout my academic life. I was the secretary of the Robotics & Automation Society. I was also a member of IEEE 2018-2019. I was the most active and crucial executive member for 3 years in [STUDENT_ORGANIZATION]. I was one of the 2 finalists in the spotlight: dancer of [UNIVERSITY], 2018. There were also two consecutive wins in the Inter Department (representing ECE girls) dance competition, 2018 & 2019. I was also responsible for organizing and handling food stalls, accounts and billings during events in college. I also went to photowalks in [LOCATION] in the mornings along with other batchmates and lecturers for recreation. I was also the organizer of intercampus AIU selections for Inter University Tournaments. I was also the Winner of street dance at [EVENT_NAME] in 2018. The extracurricular activities have elevated my communication skills and leadership abilities which were of the essence in the fulfilment of the programmes. I also cultivated a healthy competitiveness which enabled me to excel in both my academic activities and those beyond its realms.

In the final year of my undergraduate programme, I was appointed in my target organization [COMPANY_NAME] as an Associate Software Engineer. My physical condition was not at the least suitable to give the written test which was the first round of the interview. However, I overcame all hurdles and completed all the three rounds and bagged the job. I was in a department where we worked with our Chinese counterpart working towards the desired objectives and customer requirements (Ecu and project developments for Big trucks and passenger cars). My primary inspiration was my manager who had an experience of over ten years in the field and has the potential to solve any tricky situation. She was able to provide some sort of an innovative solution every time there were some deadlocks during the project stages. I worked in this organization for nine months and had to stop for some unavoidable circumstances.

Getting out of the professional sector did not stop me from working on myself and bolstering my skill set. I have certification in Introduction to Negotiation: A Strategic Playbook for becoming a Principled and Persuasive Negotiator - [UNIVERSITY]; Coursera April 2021. Presently, I am pursuing some other certificate courses like Programming Foundations with JavaScript, HTML and CSS, [UNIVERSITY]; Data Structures and Algorithms Specialization; Mathematical Thinking in Computer Science; Divide and Conquer, Sorting and Searching, and Randomized Algorithms, [UNIVERSITY]; SQL for Data Science, [UNIVERSITY] from Coursera.

Today MY WINGS, the energies, and skills I possess stay heavy on my back and I see the perfect FLIGHT they are awaiting is right at your university. At this juncture when I have acquired a bit of experience alongside my academic knowledge, I believe that it is an apt time to further my frontiers in the field of Computer Science by getting into the Master's programme at this highly regarded university. This course would enable me to get adequate knowledge on Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Scientific Computing, all of which would be of the essence in carving a niche for myself in this field. Getting to study among the global pool of talent and get the guidance of some of the best professors in the field of computers would beyond any doubt be an enriching experience.
