It excites me as I write this letter and apply to the Master of Science in Computer Science at the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern.

Scoring the top 1 percentile (99.32 PR) in Joint Entrance Exam-Main (All India Engineering Entrance Examination), I got admission to [UNIVERSITY_1], one of the top ("A" grade) computer science institutes in India. With a relevant academic background and more than 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer in Technology at [COMPANY_1], I aspire to become a multi-faceted leader cum product manager in a computer science discipline who builds better software products by connecting the dots between programming, user experience, and people's lives.

10 years ago when I wrote my first "Hello, World!" program, computers and programming became an integral part of my life. Programming has been my hobby and interest since college. At [UNIVERSITY_1], I learned various computer science concepts and enjoyed working on projects like Online Food ordering web-application (Software Engineering), Hotel Booking database management system, obstacles detecting and avoiding Automated Floor Cleaning Robot, Socket programming (Computer Networks), etc. My keen interest in Data Mining also led me to take up a project on 'Detection and Filtering of Spam Mails', in which I implemented the Random Forest machine learning algorithm using Python.

Because of my deep understanding and exceptional performance in the Software Project Management course, I was entrusted with the mentorship of a software development project for a team of 10 students at [UNIVERSITY_2]. Apart from this, during my bachelor's study, I regularly participated in competitive programming on [URL] and submitted codes for various problems using Binary Search Tree, Linked list, HashMap, Graphs, Pattern searching, Dynamic programming, etc. which also won me a Silver and Bronze medal during various contests.

When I joined [UNIVERSITY_1], I faced a language barrier and had to learn English in a very short period from my local Hindi language. This inspired me to develop an Android application- "[APP_NAME]"- which fellow students/users can download from the Google Play Store and learn English by playing games to improve their vocabulary, grammar, speaking, and listening skills. During the whole project, I was more fascinated to work on translating the UI mock-ups into actual code in Android XML codes and building the logic which runs the mini-games within the app using Java, Firebase real-time database, storage, SQLite database. The application has 10,000+ downloads with an overall 4.3 / 5 positive rating on Google Play Store.

While I gained conceptual & technical knowledge from [UNIVERSITY_1] professors, my strong desire to have industrial experience and client exposure led me to join [COMPANY_1]. At work, my "Never say No" attitude coupled with my hard-working nature and client-focused approach quickly helped me win fans across my team and clients. Because of my strong grip on technical expertise and client management skills, I got an opportunity to work directly with clients at the client office for six months. Some of my notable experiences on [CLIENT_1] E-commerce include Google Pay payment gateway integration (Java, Google APIs, SAP Hybris), cart data-modeling, request mappings for product, cart, and checkout pages, WCMS (Web Content Management System) for product categories (Spring MVC, JavaScript, Hybris), Promotion services (Hybris Backoffice), Dynamic query optimization (SQL, Hibernate, Javascript) to improve the page responsiveness by 40%, storing large images using Base64 encoding (JSP Servlets, RESTful APIs), reCAPTCHA implementation to protect the website from fraud and abuse. Apart from core coding experience, I have managed 800+ client incidents and 300+ Bug Fixes for the [CLIENT_1] E-commerce India platform. I was impressed by my work experience at the client office and the technical prowess of my technical lead at [COMPANY_1], which later became a motivation for me to acquire deep knowledge in the computer science discipline.

A feeling of gratitude comes to me when my technical knowledge and experience help people around me. After 4 months of joining the [CLIENT_1] E-commerce Project at [COMPANY_1], I became a de facto mentor for the new people joining the team. During my bachelor's degree, I was also elected as the mentor to the annual festival - [EVENT_NAME] committee of the university by getting the highest student votes (107/240). I hope to continue the same enthusiasm and immerse myself in the dynamic TU Kaiserslautern community.

Pursuing more in-depth knowledge of computer science and sharing it with others is part of my plan to become a recognized leader in the IT industry. The master's program in Computer Science at the TU Kaiserslautern is a perfect platform for me to hone my computer science skill-sets. Apart from building a strong base of technical understanding, knowledge of Software Engineering will help me build products that are friendlier, accurate, intelligent, and make end users' lives easier.

Apart from the erudite faculty and research facilities at TU Kaiserslautern, the program will help me make new friends irrespective of international borders, learn from them, and allow me to continually expand my knowledge with the fast-paced IT industry. For me, the master's program at TU Kaiserslautern is not just an opportunity to spend a year or two living in an exciting location but it is also a chance to study and train within a vibrant and forward-thinking intellectual German culture. My stint in Kaiserslautern will allow me to learn from efficient government initiatives, high-tech innovations, and cultural heritage.
