STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

There is no doubt in the fact that several generations have survived on technology and the massive disruption computer science has brought to our lives cannot go unnoticed. The present and future of the globe depend on technology that is created out of variegated components such as software, applications, programming languages, etc. The wealth of a developer's mind can be used to bring around unimaginable advancements to the tables of humankind. My fascination with technology commenced at an early age and today, having gained extensive knowledge, I find myself drawn to your esteemed university's Masters in Computer Science program.

My passion for computers had me enroll in a Bachelor's of Technology in Computer Science Engineering. My undergraduate degree has been by far the most rewarding experience of my academic journey. While I have strengthened my foundation in the domains of computer science, through research, projects and publications, I have broadened my horizons immensely.

To gain experience directly in the domain, I have filed for two patents in [PATENT_OFFICE]. The first one on A System of Food Delivery and Order from the Customers aims to provide profit in terms of Stakeholders, ease in terms of the app user, diverse options for ordering food, improvising in Delivery mechanism to solve the hectic situation created by a single place, single order criteria. The second patent on The Listen Ear – Live your life proposes a software application that initially detects the level of mental health issues using Machine learning from various parameters.

I have also worked on several projects and papers such as Smart Glasses for People with Visual Disabilities, Sixth Sense Robot and Surveillance Robot which have allowed me to grasp the complexities of Computer Vision, Programming Languages, Machine Learning models along with other technical aspects. The research on Smart Glasses proposed a system that can assist the visually impaired with navigation and mobility. With no reliable and inexpensive solutions present, the idea was to replace the traditional equipment currently used for the daily activities of the visually impaired. The research work can be used for practical use cases and is suitable for the visually impaired. The system proposed in this project includes the use of region-based neural convolutional networks and the use of Raspberry Pi to process image data. The system contains the Tesseract library of the Python programming language for OCR and provides the user with an output.

To gain some hands-on experience at the industry level, I took up internships that enabled me to work on advanced technology declarative development and website development, designing and testing. My minor stint within the industry has helped me understand the nuances of multilayered technology-based projects along with offering me pivotal insights into the industry functions. To further advance on my knowledge base, I also took up online certifications on Programming, Javascript, Algo-Java, Advanced DS Algo in Java and Entrepreneurship.

While my academic pursuits have enhanced my cognitive abilities, my participation in a range of activities has helped me to contribute to my holistic development. Ever since my schooling days, I excelled and represented my school in Pool & Snooker tournaments and these sports helped me imbibe the skills of sportsmanship and teamwork. Leadership is something that is ingrained in me and thus serving as a Class Representative for four years during schooling came naturally to me. Participating in workshops, both technical and non-technical, has pushed me to imbibe the skills of professionalism, planning and problem-solving while organizing numerous events such as 'Cloud Computing', 'Natural Language Processing' workshops and social visits. I believe these activities serve as a strong testimony of my openness to initiatives and creativity.

As I bring into focus my long and short-term goals, I realize how a Master's degree in Computer Science would be the right successor to my visions and goals. An advanced degree would help me gather the expertise, strengthen my technical acumen and apply theoretical learnings into practice. The idea is to emerge as a renowned Computer Programmer in the technology industry so that I can make significant contributions to the global fraternity of computer scientists and developers. A rigorous higher education would also enable me to understand the nitty-gritty of machine learning, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and robotics, areas I am eager to explore. The motive is to utilize my skill set to create products that have a lasting, positive and rewarding impact on the lives of large population sets.

In alignment with these visions and goals, I find myself at the doors of [UNIVERSITY_NAME], [CAMPUS_NAME] which I believe would provide me with a launchpad for my CS-based career. The university is well-known for its cutting-edge environment and the standards of academic brilliance are known throughout the world. Furthermore, the curriculum is rooted in an industry-centric setting providing knowledge of data science, machine learning, computing systems, computer networks and neural networks. I am enamored by the presence of the latest digital tools and state-of-the-art labs, which will help me work on further research in the domains of CS.
