Statement of Purpose

"How do they do it," a program on Discovery channel had sown the seed in me to explore technology. When I was in school, I watched episodes of this show daily and was always surprised at how automated robots and other electronic products were designed. I was intrigued by faultless automation and learned more about robotics and the technology that underpins its operations.

It motivated me to develop some small projects with readily available resources and upload the project-building videos on YouTube. When I was thoroughly immersed in the design of small electronic items, I had the opportunity to attend my high school's Project Expo, where I witnessed a lot of college students exhibiting their innovative models that were comparable to those I had seen on the show. I went over to them right away and struck up a conversation with them, learning that they are graduate students studying Electronics and Communication Engineering. As my interactions with them progressed, I understood that building robots needed a thorough understanding of the many topics covered in the ECE program. At this point, I decided to seek a bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

With a CGPA of 8.46, I graduated from [UNIVERSITY_NAME] in [CITY_NAME] with a major in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I learned about Digital Logic and Circuits, Analog Electronics, Signal and Systems, Control Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Analog and Digital Communications, Integrated Electronics, Communication Networks, Python Programming, and Data Structures throughout my graduation. On realizing that programming skills play a critical role in developing a robot, I took online courses to get familiar with Programming in C, Internet of Things, and Advanced Computer Vision with TensorFlow. Later, when I started to work on developing software for controlling advanced robots and IoT projects, I got to work in different programming languages, Cloud Technologies, Computer Vision, and machine learning. This inspires me to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science, which will provide me with a comprehensive knowledge of the subjects and help me to land on the next step in my career.

During my graduation, I worked on the Smart Agri-Horticulture project, which aimed to automate the horticulture process. I built a gantry-like structure that can move in three directions with the help of stepper motors and it is kept inside a polyhouse in a regulated environment to assist the plants growing factors. These devices are connected to a single-board computer and save readings in a database. The polyhouse is equipped with different sensors and actuators to control the humidity, temperature, turbidity, pH of water, and soil moisture. The actuators inside the polyhouse will function autonomously based on the sensor readings to maintain the ideal climatic conditions to support the specific plants inside it, and with the help of a dynamic web-app users can monitor and control these peripherals in remote locations. The function of identifying many diseases and pests in plants was developed with the help of TensorFlow's Object Detection API to train a convolutional neural network object detection classifier and Faster-RCNN-Inception-V2 model. The camera fixed in the gantry-structure will capture photos of plants and send them to a single-board computer to analyze for any disease or pest present. In case of any disease or pest identified, the database stores the information for future training of the model, and also it notifies the user, the type of disease and pests in plants.

Intelligent Scanning System is another of my projects for which we won the nationwide hackathon. We had the opportunity to represent our college at the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Smart India Hackathon. We presented an alternative to the high-cost X-ray scanning system for baggage used in Indian railways. To obtain channel state information, we employed commodity wifi, baggage produced to pass through two wifi antennas, and KNN-based Feature Selection to select good subcarriers for the CSI complex and CSI complex difference. Based on the collected reflections from the CSI complex, Signal Reflection-based Object Risk Estimation determines the suspicious object's risk level further. If suspect baggage is discovered, it will be securely removed from the spot using an autonomous robotic arm and moving platform.

To have a practical understanding of learned concepts, I interned at [COMPANY_NAME], where I received intensive training and assessments for learning Python, IronPython, Knockout JS, SQL, and Javascript. After training, I got full-time work with the same company and continued to hone my skills. During this time, I was able to design web applications with responsive user interfaces and maintain databases on my own, and I was awarded for mastering the domain quickly.

The Master's in Computer Science with a focus in Software Programming, Artificial Intelligence, and Networks can help me improve my existing knowledge while also introducing me to new insights in the field. The projects will aid me in gaining practical experience with theoretical learning. Because of its universities' emphasis on practical application, I picked Canada. In addition, the country offers the best job possibilities for people seeking a unique experience. The Master of Computer Science Concentration in Applied Artificial Intelligence at the [UNIVERSITY_NAME] is the perfect platform to accomplish my future objectives. Its rigorous curriculum and world-class infrastructure kindled a strong desire to pursue this program. Its vibrant student community and Technology for the digital transformation of society will help me connect with different people and it will strong foundation for my venture.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the field of robotics is expected to develop at a rate of 4% over the next ten years. This rate is likely to increase as more aspects of society become dependent on this growing technology. As a result, upon completion of my Master's degree, I would like to work as a Design Engineer at one of the prominent robotics businesses, such as [COMPANY_NAME], [COMPANY_NAME], [COMPANY_NAME], [COMPANY_NAME], and others. In the following years down the line, after getting sufficient expertise, I want to establish myself as a Robotic Process Automation Lead.

I am the team leader for the Smart India Hackathon project that we won. It was chaotic at the time, and I had to be highly organized because there were numerous selection processes and deadlines to meet. Within each deadline, we had to produce a prototype with particular features accomplished, and I was able to handle them confidently and calmly. One of the incidents demonstrates my commitment and my ability to lead a team to success through proper planning. My technical skills, combined with excellent communication and critical and analytical thinking skills, have always kept me in competition for success.

As I consider improving my existing technical skills, I am confident that your University will serve as a launching pad for a bright career in the field I am passionate about. Therefore, I humbly request the University's admissions department to accept my application. Looking forward, I am eager to wield the expertise that I will gain from the university to achieve my goals.
