STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

We are currently in the midst of a technological and computing revolution that will drastically change our lives and potentially redefine what it means to be human. I am very excited at the prospect of devoting my long-term career to such a dynamic, fast advancing field of Computer Science. I was amazed, how a program could perform various tasks. Almost all the everyday problems now have a quick solution and each of these solutions have an algorithm behind them. The algorithm can be as simple as to add two numbers or as complex as hashing and encryption. Without us realizing, modern life has been taken over by algorithms. The algorithms are efficient and quick but research and innovation have shown that new algorithms can be designed to be much faster. I believe to be able to work and research on new algorithms and new solutions to the everyday problems, I need a deeper understanding of Theoretical aspects of Computer Science in general. Hence, I have decided to pursue my Master's in Computer Science to improve my skills and contribute my part to the community and solve human problems using technology to the best of my ability.

I always maintained the best academic records throughout my academics. My strong skill-set in Mathematics always made me think logically. I studied Computer Science with passion and improved my skills. During the four years of my undergraduate studies at [UNIVERSITY_NAME] (affiliated to [UNIVERSITY_NAME]), I was exposed to the different kind of intriguing subjects and realized how vast this branch of science actually is. I gained knowledge about many programming languages like C, C++, Java, python, enjoyed courses on data structures, computer architecture, analysis of algorithms, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, operating systems, database management thus getting a strong foundation of the fundamentals.

The explanatory thinking process that developed amidst my under graduation has been instrumental in my success throughout my academic pursuits and the professional career path I have chosen for myself, where I am currently working as Member of Technical Staff in the OAM unit of [COMPANY_NAME] from May 2020. We develop software on 4G and 5G Open vRAN (virtual Radio Access Network) Solutions. Currently working on developing interface between radio and Antenna line devices such as RET and RTS devices with 3GPP standards and HDLC protocol. I was also responsible for providing support in development and testing activities of other engineers that involve several inter-dependencies.

I worked on multiple projects. My first major project was in my final year of my engineering course titled "Interactive Retail Shelf". Our research provides a solution to upgrade retail industries by combining the worlds of technology, retail and products. Consequently, I published a paper on this project titled "Interactive Retail Shelf" at [JOURNAL_NAME] in May 2020. Apart from the projects undertaken in college, it was my desire to gain exposure to the software industry, and this prompted me to take up various training and internships. Interest to learn and thirst for exposure to the real-world problems and working to solve them gave an opportunity to be an Intern at [COMPANY_NAME]. As an Intern, I worked on applying Machine Learning techniques to the field of sports analytics. This first experience in the professional industry made me realize the deeper understanding that is needed to provide the world with better and efficient solutions. In my final semester, I also got an opportunity to do an Internship in [COMPANY_NAME] as a Business Intelligence Trainee. Where we Design, code, test and aggregate results from SQL queries to provide information to users.

I published one more paper in [JOURNAL_NAME] titled as "Using Machine Learning Algorithms for Breast Cancer Risk Detection and Diagnosis" in May 2020. This is based on Breast Cancer Risk Detection and Diagnosis using Machine Learning Algorithms by using the concepts of K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Naive Bayes, Classification of Regression Trees (CART), Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Random Forest.

Through my years of undergraduate study, my time as Intern and then as a professional, coming up with new ideas to have better solutions and make the world much easier to live in has been a common interest. The simple problems around us fascinate me and bring together my interests in Algorithms and Theoretical Computer Science where I am curious to apply my work experience as well to work on the solutions.

Contrastingly, my excellence is not only in the field of academics but also in various co-curricular activities. I have been an active participant in many cultural activities that were conducted in school and college. I also involved in many of the college events as an organizing member. I was one of the active member for all those four years in college. I also organized and participated in many social events such as blood donation camps, collecting donations for the people who are in need etc.

I look forward to a career in research where I cannot only use my academic background to achieve my research goals but also make original contributions to my field of interest. I believe that graduate studies would provide me with the opportunities to attend advanced courses and would be the stepping-stone to my career in research. Degree from your prestigious University suits my research interests because of its advanced academic curriculum and world-class research groups. I believe that it is the best environment for me to achieve my goals while gaining experience and exposure to a diverse student body and faculty. I believe that no other school provides students with the combination of culture, education and research environment, required for an overall personality development, as offered by your institution.

Summarizing all written above, I believe that my serious intention for study, my projects, my certifications and strong academic background in various areas of Computer Science will be beneficial for my graduate studies and research. Attending your prestigious institution would give me an opportunity to receive high-level education under the guidance of prominent professors and excellent teachers. I would regard my admission to your prestigious University not only as a great honour but also as a great responsibility and challenge to prove myself.
