Statement of Purpose
"Computer science is the operating system for all innovation." These words by the science maven [NAME] have always enthralled me to pursue a career in this transcendent field. One unavoidable value that I love about Computer Science is the unfathomable potential of innovations and learnings. I belong to the computer science field and possess deep knowledge of the nuances of this spectacular domain. With some hands-on experience and the gusto to explore advancements in programming, I aspire to secure a Master's degree in Computer Science to become a pre-eminent part of this ever-expanding sector.
Throughout my bachelor's program, I was dedicated to academics, and my performance was always distinguished. Nevertheless, for me, it was always more about the firsthand experience and not the textbooks. The syllabus can be a chapter of the program, but the vitality that practical experiences can instill remain unmatched. With this notion, one thing was crystal clear to me that I needed to indulge more in projects and internships to delve deeper into the program and a step closer to my professional goals. To achieve the desired ends, I started being more out there and participating in college workshops and competitions. Things played out well, and I represented my Institute, [UNIVERSITY], in the Hackathons like [HACKATHON_NAME], which aimed at giving ideas for the betterment of Urban transportation after pandemic and encouraging people to use public transport, which became a kernel to my professional credits. Participating in Hackathons came as both a realization and learning.
During my bachelor's program, we were made to work on various projects pertaining to practical applications of the semestral syllabus. The first project I worked on was the 'Real Estate Database Management System.' We designed a database management system for a real estate office that sold houses and apartments within a city. The project proved helpful in breaking down the implementation of theoretical concepts and their applications.
The second one was 'The Ambulance Tracker App' using Nodejs, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, Bootstrap, and AWS. The project aimed to resolve the ambulance availability issues on the campus to minimize the consequences. We created three portals for students, administration, and drivers, respectively. The results were promising as the administration now had a track of the ambulances available on the campus, the administration had relevant records. And the star feature of the project was the tracking facility connected to the driver's phone, which allowed the administration to track the current location of the ambulance. The project was packed with learnings and instilled in me a holistic skillset.
The third project that fell my way was a 'Library Management System' using Nodejs, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, and Bootstrap. The project aimed at helping students issue books more conveniently. The Library Management system was highly inefficient regarding issues and returns, which really increased the time and effort. The idea was to make an E-book portal to ensure every student had access to the library books. For this project, I created two portals for students and administration. The new Management System was more efficient and allowed the administration to block the students who failed to pay fines or return books on time. The project was highly appreciated, given its benefits and attention to detail.
All these projects helped me undergo the realms of the industry and live the real-world outlines and quandaries. Apart from these, I believe my internship at '[COMPANY]' has been the bedrock of my bachelor's degree. At [COMPANY], I worked on Zoho One, Canva, Clockify. I worked with my team members and coordinated with clients. In addition to this, I was also responsible for giving presentations to different teams and departments like marketing. The internship was professionally fulfilling as it sharpened my practical knowledge and made me industry-ready, just like internships are supposed to. My surpassing grades and credible internships fetched me a position as a freelance developer at the [COMPANY]. My responsibility was to create the front-end and make changes as per the requirements. Freelancing at [COMPANY] brought in a whole lot of learning.
During my bachelor's program, I was well aware that the world outside focuses on skills and training that a professional carries. So, I started adding more and more technical skills to my resume. Currently, I am well versed in C++, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, Bootstrap, MySQL, and Git. Furthermore, I did several conducive certificate courses, including Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python), Python Data Structures, Text Retrieval, Search Engines, and Cloud Computing. I believe in keeping myself updated with essential skills and basic industry requirements. Moreover, all my internships and projects helped me master all these skills on practical levels.
Apart from the projects and jobs, I also like to commit to noble causes. I teach and give lessons to my juniors and sometimes to the underprivileged ones to support the same. Wrapping up academics, I am a natural leader and have been acing a leader's role ever since the school times where I was the class representative more than once. I am highly participative about challenges and the excitement of testing my skills in competitions. Apart from being a good leader, I am all about hosting and organizing events. I successfully managed the music events during [EVENT_NAME], Annual Cultural Fest at my institute. Furthermore, I am eloquent, decisive, and exceedingly diligent.
Away from all the professional building, I find my solace in Music. I have participated and won various accolades as the lead guitarist, including North-East's one of the most significant cultural fest named [EVENT_NAME], the annual cultural fest of [UNIVERSITY]. In addition to playing guitar, I also write poems and songs.
With such educational background, internship experience, and projects, I believe I have the momentum to pursue this coursework and transition to a more seasoned professional. I am confident that this MS coursework will strengthen my foundation and act as a gateway to rewarding work and remarkable opportunities in the domain. Learning in the seasoned academic milieu and advanced infrastructure at your distinguished institution would exceptionally maximize my potential.
