Statement of Purpose

In day-to-day business and in real life, data plays a very important role. It is pertinent and required of successful business analysts or data analysts to find the type of data, to get more insights with the data, and to forecast the impact that will be created by that data. This all can be done after the cleaning and filtering process of the data. During my period of PGDM studies, I have garnered the experience of developing and utilizing various tools like Excel, Spreadsheet, SPSS, Power BI, Tableau, and others. Data visualization is also important as it helps us to get more insights with comparison of the data even in real time. For visualizing, the Power BI and Tableau tools are used. I really believe that a successful analyst and manager is one who forecasts effectively and efficiently utilizes the company's resources to bring maximum productivity. Also, a good analyst needs prominent problem-solving skills and good interpretation skills. I have learned some of these management lessons through my professional journey. However, the bigger learning has been the need for a full-time Data Analytics or Data Science qualification to prepare myself for assuming bigger responsibilities to become an analyst in top reputed organizations. Therefore, I have selected the Master's program at your prestigious university.

Shedding light on my trajectory until now, I completed undergraduate studies in the stream of Computer Science and Engineering and followed it with a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. During my PGDM course, I joined [COMPANY_NAME] as a Business Development Associate. Here, I implemented my skills to generate leads and tried to fit them into the sales funnel to help in increasing the total sales volume and revenue generation. Also, by using the data analysis process, I found out one of the major existing problems for the organization which affected their employee retention rate. Therefore, to find a data-based real-time solution, I underwent the data analysis process by collecting responses through surveys and continued by cleaning and filtering the data. With the knowledge of analysis tools, I analyzed and reported the real factors which affect their employee retention rate. With my problem-solving skills, I suggested solutions and reported them in the documentation, which was conveyed to my managers. I even helped them in marketing by creating pamphlets, posters, and promoting through social media platforms.

During my undergraduate days, I had done a project titled "Identification of Pests Using MATLAB." Here we worked as a team and completed this project, which was also my final year project. In this project, our objective was to help the agriculture sector by identifying the pests in plants which get affected. The tool used here was MATLAB. With MATLAB, we underwent the image processing method to get the expected output as a result. We stored a database in MATLAB, and with the process of filtering and segmenting, it gave us the result on the count of how much percentage that particular plant was affected.

Evidently, I have successfully executed some prestigious and useful projects. The fact that many of my initiatives are utilized as assessment and best practice tools demonstrates that these endeavors have brought out my soft skills and capabilities to the forefront. However, the business world is more complex than I thought. With time, I have realized that I need graduate school guidance to move to a higher level in my career. Hence, I have returned to academics and opted for the Master's course at the university.

I am a professional football player. I have entered state-level tournaments during my school days. In continuity of my career, I have participated in inter-university form-3 matches. I have team working capabilities, and to prove this, I have managed my football team as a captain for the past 3 years and 2 years during my school days. I am also very conscious about maintaining my body fit both mentally and physically.

The Business Analytics program will make me well-versed with various business functions like finance, marketing, human resources, operations, information technology, and overall business aspects, and teach me their role and the importance of data in running business operations. Moreover, through this course, I will have access to individuals who will serve as mentors on my professional journey, increase my knowledge, and expand my connections on a global scale. The course has a customizable curriculum that allows students flexible learning modes and a plethora of diverse courses to fit into students' future goals. This diverse educational resource is what drew me towards the program. My college group projects will help my creative side and increase my teamwork abilities, which have been obviously missing in my set of abilities. I also hope to give back to the graduate school community through my contagious desire for productivity and effectiveness. I believe that my colleagues and professors will also tap from my well of experience and creativity through my group projects and contributions.

After completing my Master's studies at your prestigious institute, I am confident that I would have accumulated valuable analytical management skills and global market knowledge. I really believe and expect that your program will be a key element and stepping stone to my career goals and aspirations. I wish to deploy my managerial learning initially as a working professional and then as a business person.
