Growing up in India, food is an important part of our culture. With festivals all around the corner, all Indians including me have a near and dear relationship with food. With most of the country's population around 24 to 30 years old, preferences for a variety of cuisines is increasing, which is shown by the uprise of food processing, beverage industries, and restaurants.

Seeing this growing trend, I have joined a beverage industry to learn the technologies and culture inside the food industry. Over a year, I have been trained by some of the industry experts and had great learning experience. With the increase in demand for food products and increasing need for food security, I strongly believe that food technology opens limitless opportunities for me to serve humans. Food technology has the potential to achieve UN sustainable goals of zero hunger in many third world countries. With this course at your esteemed university, I envision to empower myself with these technologies to improve the food security for communities.

This vision and quest of mine led me to apply to university in Italy. Italy has a special place in my heart as a nation that satisfied the savory of the world from ancient times with some of widely recognised and eaten foods like wine and cheese, to modern day pizzas and pastas. The nation is full of inspiration and talent to bring the best food on to plates. With this vision and bubbling enthusiasm and quest to learn and research on modern cutting edge technologies in food and beverage processing, I am applying to this university.

I had completed my graduation in Chemical Engineering. Over the course of study, I found chemical engineering very interesting and satisfying. Even at my work in the beverage industry, I found most of the principles of chemical engineering being applied. I wanted to mention one research I have conducted as an undergraduate student. I led a team of four to develop spirulina platensis farms in rural areas of an Indian state called Andhra Pradesh. Spirulina is a cyanobacteria widely recognised as one of the super foods. With an aim to introduce this food into Indian cuisine, we have worked and this work was recognised with first prize in a national competition conducted at [INSTITUTION NAME]. I want to continue to learn and research with the same zest in your university.

During my initial part of my career, I worked as a research assistant at [COMPANY NAME], a pharmaceutical company in [CITY NAME] of Karnataka. As a part of my role, I worked extensively on scaling up of laboratory processes to industrial level. This was another challenging task that yielded rich experience for me as a young graduate and allowed me to learn the back end work and also gave an idea of research and efforts that goes into design of drug molecules with a high degree of accuracy and precision.

Then I got an opportunity to work with [COMPANY NAME] in Goa, which is the global leader in spirits and alcohol production. This was one of my dreams come true. In [COMPANY NAME], my role as a quality control expert taught me the value of integrity and critical thinking. As quality control expert, my task was to test and increase the product quality in an efficient way. This enabled me to work on problems in the company at grassroot level and understanding and collaborating closely with all departments of industry from purchase to production to warehousing to ensure and enhance the quality of beverage produced, giving me hands-on experience of alcohol production from grain to glass. Adding to this, I have operational expertise on advanced analytical analysis like Gas Chromatography (GC), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and Sensory Evaluation. I also worked very actively on enhancement to industrial safety protocols in the industry.

Now, after having the necessary knowledge, skills, and work experience in the field of food technology, I feel that this is the best time to enhance my skills by pursuing a Master's in food technology in your university.
