STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Technical soundness underlies the professional excellence of any good business manager who consistently steers his organization to new heights of success. In day-to-day business operations, everyone encounters a wide range of people with varying personalities. It is pertinent and required of successful business managers to find the balance between utilizing the strengths and weaknesses of every person. During college, I built up a strong leadership quality and completed every task with full responsibility. I believe that a successful leader and manager is someone who can effectively and efficiently utilize the company's resources to achieve maximum productivity. Throughout my academic years, I have learned to work as a team and not just be a team leader. My duties increased as I started as a class representative to the treasurer of the Department of Management and Financial Studies. From handling 50 students to 300 students, plus managing all the budgets and financial related queries. I have a keen interest in the field of finance and, therefore, have selected MS in Finance at your prestigious university.

Shedding light on my trajectory until now, I completed undergraduate studies in Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance Investment Analysis) in July, 2021, from [UNIVERSITY_NAME]. During college, I interned at [COMPANY_NAME], an educational youth-based start-up company. I interned there as an operating executive head in the departments of sales, marketing, and business development. I single-handedly generated a revenue of Rs 22,500.

I have also completed an additional course in "Data Analysis for Business" from [COLLEGE_NAME], [UNIVERSITY_NAME], and I possess basic knowledge of Python, machine learning, and quantitative techniques. I have successfully completed 125 hours of this course which has helped me gain a strong grip on the business program. Also, the course prepared me to have a practical approach while analysing business data, and so, I feel that pursuing this course was a worthy decision for my career.

Apart from academics, I was a member of [NGO_NAME], an NGO. It is an organisation that helps slum area children get a basic education. With [NGO_NAME], I indulged in the field work. My team and I used to go to their area and gather young children and teach them beginner-level things such as writing alphabets, making sentences, playing with numbers, and many more activities. I would like to add a few problems that we faced during teaching them, or rather, convincing them to study. Some families did not allow their children to come with us because they believed that it was just a waste of time. Furthermore, even if we managed to get some students, it was difficult to handle them and discipline them. However, as I am someone who loves being indulged in social work, I would like to list out the positives and say that we did help plenty students learn and grow. If given a chance, I would like to keep serving the needy to the best of my ability.

The Finance curriculum will enable me to understand the various business functions of finance and will teach me their roles and importance in running business operations. Moreover, this course focuses on offering the kind of programs that would not only develop me as a professional but also as an individual who is ready to take up the challenges in the real world. Through this course, I will have access to individuals who will serve as mentors on my professional journey, increasing my knowledge and networks on a global scale. The course provides learning in the field of finance with subjects like corporate finance, investment management, and derivatives mainly. It also covers computational courses such as Python, SAS, and R programming. I believe, that having a good grasp of critical thinking is required for such aspects, which can be achieved by your program. This diverse educational resource is what drew me towards the program. Further, the group projects will help my creative side and increase my teamwork abilities, which is an important part of life. I also hope to make my graduate college community proud through my contagious desire for productivity and effectiveness.

Post the completion of my master's, I aim to work as a Financial Analyst and contribute to the growth of the company I will be associated with. I have always dreamt of working in a reputed organization with a sound working environment that will not only develop my professional skills but also help me deliver excellent interpersonal skills.
