"Climate change knows no borders. It will not stop before the Pacific Islands and the whole of the international community here has to shoulder a responsibility to bring about a sustainable development." This quote by [NAME] aptly delves deep into the nuances of climate change and echoes my thoughts on the same that we should prioritize sustainable development at every level. Having pursued my undergrad in Civil Engineering, I curiously and very rightly knew that the future demanded solution-oriented issues in terms of planning, development and mitigation.

To disseminate what I studied via my coursework in my university to the present scenario, I pursued my under graduation dissertation in "Viability of Wastewater Treatment Units installed in Green Buildings & adoption of new methodologies to improve its working efficiency" in the field of Environmental Engineering that stressed on usage of the magnetic properties of fly ash for wastewater filtration. While this was a tepid area I was venturing into, it, however, piqued my interest to further write a research paper on "Effect of Thermal Energy on Artificial Coagulation for the Treatment of Wastewater." Fortunately, my work was rewarded and I presented it in [UNIVERSITY], [CITY] for the [JOURNAL NAME].

While exploring technological interventions further, I considered my month-long internship as a turning point with [ORGANIZATION] in 2015 unfolding its domino effect thereafter that put my thoughts in place at the crossroads of female societal obligations, agriculture, employment and the environment. My work on "The Challenges posed by Man-Elephant conflict in the [COMMUNITY NAME] community" where I was in charge of documenting their experiences, the sustainability of their preventive measures and the upliftment of the [COMMUNITY NAME] women by honing their entrepreneurial skills to market their local products. This experience was an eye-opener for me that I cannot stress enough today on the importance of habitat preservation (of the tuskers) and the well-being and sustainability of the rural folk if we are to augment the Human Development indexes.

It was the year after that USA's President [NAME] announced its departure from the Paris Agreement and I read everything that came my way in the form of editorials and heated arguments that justified certain annihilated ideologies whose reckless effects would continue to linger on in the future of world affairs. Keeping this in mind, I, fortunately, got an opportunity to join the [ORGANIZATION] and [ORGANIZATION] in their documentation and PR team for the development of a living document for [CITY] in [STATE] named, "[CITY]: A Climate Ready City under Urban Climate Resilience in Eastern India" sponsored by the [FOUNDATION], USA. I was also a part of the documentation, public diplomacy and reporting team in compiling the report, "Sustainability- Gaps and Business Opportunities" targeting the Dutch SMEs in the [ORGANIZATION] in [CITY], India; a trade office of the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate.

As my fondness for writing and reading ballooned, I started writing editorials for [STATE]'s leading daily newspapers on pertinent issues like sanitation (Swachh Bharat), COVID models, domestic violence and of, course climate change.

For the past few years, a few European countries, led by Germany, have been pushing for a further active role in climate change discussions as well, presenting a valid fact that climate change has an international security dimension. Climate change-induced food or water shortage, loss of habitat or livelihood, or migration can exacerbate existing conflicts or even create new ones. This can have insinuations for the UN field missions that are deployed across the world in peacekeeping efforts. For instance, climate change has a direct influence on soaring regional disparities and the protection of vulnerable tribes. The classic example is [STATE]'s flash floods every year that has scathing marks on the state's economy and polity. It is not only a case of intra-country dispute because through my internship in [UNIVERSITY] where I worked on a research project titled "Construction of Dams by China on the River Brahmaputra" was a revelation that climatic insecurities have the potential to topple and strain relations between the two giants of Asia. The idea of militarizing islands and ramping up border security can pose serious risks in the world's climate where the emphasis solely lied on national interests.

These chunks of decisions at the national level that metamorphosizes people's lives motivated me to prepare for Indian Civil Services to have a constructive role in policy making. My preparation days unraveled every action taken at a piecemeal throughout the course of Indian history vis-à-vis the world. However, I could not make it to the covenant services but I took in a sensitized cognizance that eventually streamlined my passion for environmental sustainability.

To tread further from my proverbial closet, my days as an intern with [ORGANIZATION] was a revelation in terms of the fact that the promotion of art and culture is inextricably linked with tourism development that its reach via one's writing can play a decisive role in self-employment and women empowerment. I have been engaged with them full time since 2018 and also at present with the [ORGANIZATION] for their "Safer Roads for Safer Childhood" project guided by [UNIVERSITY], [ORGANIZATION] and the [FOUNDATION].

With this said, I would also like to mention that I was a cultural ambassador to Japan as a part of the [PROGRAM NAME] programme in 2012 organized by the Japanese government under the aegis of their then PM [NAME].

Apart from academics, my experience working as the President of the literature club of my university, [CLUB NAME] (which translates to a window), I learned leadership, speaking, writing and management skills. Leading a team of 30 odd members to organise, plan, budget and execute literary events all year round enriched my personality and gave me an exceptional learning opportunity.

Having interned with these adroit agencies and being inspired to work tirelessly on my optional paper as well as other research papers that I have analysed and read for International Relations and environmentalism; it propels me to have a distinctive voice in world affairs with environmental diplomacy being one of the current raging issues. [UNIVERSITY] spoke to me through its unparalleled course structure and it reinforced my desire to divulge in the richness of the British culture and engage myself with the sustainability in diversity defined by the [STUDENT ORGANIZATION] and the student-led [PUBLICATION]. I am particularly looking forward to studying with [PROFESSOR NAME] and [PROFESSOR NAME] as their researches and subject expertise strongly align with mine and it would provide me with a solid base of experience and knowledge.

For a long time, I have tried to objectively analyse the correlation between scholars of international security, sustainable development and the environment and I am highly motivated and inspired to step into this ever-evolving field and if given a chance to be part of this esteemed institution, my goal would be to couture out my niche by studying with a perennial desire and invest my untiring efforts and develop my holistic skills to contribute my fullest to this excellent institution.
