STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

After obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, I decided to grab a chance to work at a firm to gain valuable industrial experience. Fortunately, I got to work in [COMPANY_1] with a multifaceted team of Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and skilled technicians. I was responsible for Data Analysis; extracting relevant raw data from the sources and making it readable by using computerized applications was my daily task. It helped me have deep expertise and hands-on experience with software applications, Business Analysis, different programming languages, and Statistics. As I invested time in learning new technologies and managing a team of technicians, my interest in Management grew richer. My experience to this point convinced me to go for higher education in the area of Engineering Management, where I will get the opportunity to gain a profound understanding of business practices, like marketing, accounting, and leadership skills through an engineering lens. It will give me skills to lead and manage teams, projects, and organizations.

With my working experience at [COMPANY_1], I gained lots of knowledge of coordinating with other teams in your organization, directing maintenance, production, or quality assurance. I have done an internship at 660MW Thermal Power Station which makes me acquainted with the working machines and the management of resources required for the generation of electricity. During my under graduation, I have taken many Industrial visits to companies like [COMPANY_2], [COMPANY_3], [COMPANY_4] to name a few. The main aim of the visits was to learn the working process of an organization and to make the single line diagram of an electrical circuit of Industries using software like AUTO-CAD Electrical and Microsoft Visio. Having an entrepreneurial bent, Masters in Engineering Management will equip me to bring a mixture of ideas to life. It will bridge the gap between my engineering studies and business knowledge.

My good academic record in pre-university school combined with my natural aptitude for Mathematics and a good sense of logic helped me secure a place in [UNIVERSITY_1], which is one of the most well-known engineering colleges in central India under [UNIVERSITY_2]. It is accredited as an 'A' grade college by the National Body of Accreditation and is reputed for excellent academics with the concentration on practical training which helps students to accomplish overall growth in the field of engineering. My undergraduate program was designed prudently for students to attain both theoretical and practical knowledge of the subjects like Electrical Machines, Power Electronics, Transmission Networks, Control Systems, Computer Programming, Financial Management, Principles of Economics and Management, Energy Management, Environmental Studies to name a few. I am happy to state that I acquired Above Average scores across my engineering days.

To extend my knowledge of the courses offered to me and implement it in the real world, I took up a few mini-projects. In the second year of my undergraduate study, along with my friends, I made a simple Fire Alarm which detects the presence of a fire in the room and a small step-down transformer to make 230V AC to 110V AC. These were my first steps towards acquiring deep knowledge about the subjects I had been taught and obtained utter satisfaction on receiving positive feedback from my professors. In my final year, I along with my friends wanted to work on a project that would create an impact on society. So, we decided to take the serious issue of the conservation of renewable resources into consideration. We made an Inverter under the guidance of our mentor and named it "Solar-Inverter". A solar inverter or PV inverter converts the variable direct current (DC) output of a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel into a utility frequency alternating current (AC) that can be fed into a commercial electrical grid or used by a local, off-grid electrical network.

Financial Management was one of the subjects in the penultimate year of my undergraduate program. After taking a deep insight into the subject, I realized that the combined knowledge of Engineering and Business is the most demanding requirement of today's information era to create an efficient system. Apart from Electrical background, I extended my knowledge of computer programming by acquainting myself with programming languages like C, SQL, and Python. I took up a few online courses and dedicated my free time to practicing various codes on Code Playground. Later, I decided to go for some minor projects on data analysis using Python language to sharpen my computer language skills.

I must say that my school curriculum played a vital role in my decision for choosing Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry in my pre-university course. My enthusiasm towards learning new things and dedication to work hard were not hard to witness for my teachers. My teachers pushed me more to participate in activities like science quiz, project competition, etc. I was allowed to represent my school at the District Level Inspire Award Science Exhibition, organized by the Government of India, and represented the school in the National Science Olympiad (NSO) organized by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). I am grateful for the excellent curriculum provided by the Government of India that allowed me to write an exam named National Talent Search Examination. I was awarded the consolation prize and scholarship for my further education. Though a small achievement, it bolstered my confidence to choose subjects that constantly require me to prove my analytical and logical skills. These early renditions helped me gain a consistent interest in Science and I took it further by opting for Engineering in the university. Apart from academics and projects, I also took part in various activities throughout my engineering. I, along with my fellow enthusiasts participated in State Level Handball competition in [CITY], which is one of the Sports Events in India.

The experience that I have had has allowed me to excel in my professional arena; however, I believe I need to have more confidence in extending my services to any organization. This desire has made my decision to pursue MS in Engineering Management a firm one. I am convinced that this University is the best place to fulfill my desire to pursue MS in Engineering Management. Given your international reputation and excellent curriculum would offer me tremendous opportunities to showcase my potential and will be the ideal place for me to pursue my graduate studies. Fascinating courses like Engineering Project Management, Financial Management for Engineers will provide deep insight into the field and help me gain the skills required for my aspiration. I'm fully aware of your curriculum and I state that I have the required potential, knowledge, and enthusiasm to look forward to doing it. I will be unsparing in my efforts.

Studying at a reputed University has been my dream and admission in graduate studies at your most prestigious university will open doors for my dreams. I am looking forward to joining the university as a graduate student in Engineering Management.
