"One machine can do the work of 50 men, but no machine can do the work of one extraordinary man."
The extensive deviations in Worldwide Mechanization in addition to Design Engineering have obligated the act of engineering management indeed crucial. It has been my sincere yearning to be chosen to be a part of this rapidly emerging industry. Owing respect to the subdivision and the institution, I draft this Statement of Purpose. To achieve the most excellence, I expect learning in the right surroundings, and an adequate campus, with a fulfilling schooling package, where the exploration amenities are outstandingly appreciated, eventually, making me reach the doors of success, where I can share my knowledge and serve to the society.
I had been wonderstruck of 'Ultimate Factories' on the National Geographic Channel every time I saw it. Watching how all the transportation devices especially cars are instituted and the various operations involved instilled a desire in me to be a part of the whole process, especially when it came to being a part of a team managing the major activities in such factories. I have been an automobile fanatic right since my primary schooling days. I was in 4th grade when I decided to be an automotive engineer. It was in my bachelor's when I realized how good I was at managing projects, which further assured me to study management studies and work for an automobile firm in the future.
To get onto the ladder of stepping stones of success, the very first beginning was my schooling. As far as education is concerned, I completed my schooling at [SCHOOL_BOARD], [CITY], India, and then I moved to get a basic grab of the concepts of automobiles. I got admitted to a diploma course in Automobile. This being a diploma course I got my hands on practical. To get into management, I first had to have a bachelor's degree, which I decided to pursue in the field of automobiles.
When I got admitted to a higher national diploma in automotive, I was honored to be chosen for the internship at [COMPANY] "[COMPANY_BRANCH]". It was an outstanding exposure for understanding the various processes dealing with general maintenance, replacing of major parts, and analyzing and diagnosing various equipment along with learning important skills like time management, the precision of working, convincing customers for the approval of the estimates provided, working under pressure, working in a team, etc. This year-long experience made me learn the importance of assertiveness, punctuality, precision, and discipline while working at the workshop. While learning all these professional ethics I got great experience and exposure to the professional world in terms of technical and managerial skills, by working with one of the best car manufacturers in the world.
Though, this Pandemic never stopped me from creating new research projects on paper, meeting the current industry standards. Projects like designing a vehicle exit warning system that notifies the driver if the pedestrian or a vehicle passing by the door should give an accurate reading. My 2nd research project on paper was to design and analyze solar vehicle chassis which not only help to reduce the weight of the vehicle but also increase the durability and the range of the vehicle. My 3rd research project was to study and design a spoiler to understand aerodynamics with various angles of attack at different speeds. My 4th research project was to reenact and recognize the pressure, velocity, forces acting on personal vehicles utilizing CFD analysis software and analyze the exploratory outcome. These projects involved extensive knowledge of electronics, designing, and computational analysis tools. All these research projects helped me evolve as an engineer and most importantly sharpened my brain. Presenting all of these under the tight constraints of the deadline, I had always been in the favorites of my faculty. Being helpful to other classmates and helping them grow along always brought me into the limelight of the class.
Doing all of these researches I learned important topics of engineering like mechanics, electronics, aerodynamics, etc. However, to increase my knowledge and learn the fundamentals of project management, supply chain management, business analytics I did a few international certifications from reputed universities and organizations like [UNIVERSITY], [UNIVERSITY], [UNIVERSITY] and [COMPANY]. The courses included:
• Business Intelligence and Competitive Analysis • Managing Project Risk and Changing • Fundamentals of Management • Fundamentals of Project Planning and Management • Foundation of Business Strategy • Foundation of Project Management • Project Initiation: Starting a New Project
During the Engineering Management MSc program at your university, I would be able to network with a variety of people through the various clubs and organizations on the campus. Interactions with like-minded students and industry representatives would allow me to sharpen my business acumen and help me plan my roadmap post achieving my short-term goal. A MEM course would sharpen my existing skills and later with this I would like to work at a managerial designation for a few years. In a time of 10 years after completing my master's, I would like to see myself with a big multi-national organization in terms of developing projects in technology and innovation. I also have an added motive behind being an entrepreneur. I want to give back to society with an extra emphasis on sustainability for a better future for the next generations.
I look upon myself as a candidate who has profound knowledge in electronics, technology, knowledge in Business, Finance, and Strategy due to my previous experiences and education. Along with it, I possess soft skills like perseverance, self-confidence, leadership, and team player. This makes me a well-rounded personality and thus I am sure I would be able to benefit my classmates to grow and excel.
The opportunities offered by the BEng Hons in engineering helped me enhance my skills in conducting research and development and Design Innovation. Now when I have learned most of the aspects from the engineering side, I desire to learn some management skills professionally as a student at your university.
Most of your faculties are a doctorate in their field which indicates that I will be happy to get the best guidance under them. What got me even more attracted to the university was the wide variety of researches conducted. Out of all the courses, Project management, product development, logistics, and supply chain management were some of the courses I found falling under my field of interest.
With all the experiences and the skill set I have developed in the past couple of years being a student, I am pretty confident that if given an opportunity, my dedicatedly hard-working style will make the university or the organization feel proud of me, and my belief of utilizing my knowledge for the betterment of the society has been set as an ultimate life goal which will surely reward me with the blessings and the success I have been always wanting.
