Inspired by my sister, who works in the computer science field, I got a taste of computer science in high school. Ever since, I have been completely fascinated by the sheer ability of how much Computer Science can be innovative. Moreover, I was thoroughly intrigued by its multifaceted applications, so I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from [UNIVERSITY_NAME].

During graduation, I worked on a project on finger-based gender detection. In this project, I single-handedly collected the data from different sources and created this software which determines the gender of the person. As a result, I gained technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills from this project. To further enhance my knowledge, I attended a workshop on machine learning and virtual reality. As a result, I learned about the application of Artificial Intelligence on mobile and web apps. This workshop also was a booster in my decision to pursue my further education in a similar field.

While pursuing my academics, I also always felt a need to give back to the society and serve them in a contributory way. Along with academics, I also participated in extracurricular activities. For example, to give back to my society, to be a part of a noble cause, I worked as a community development volunteer at [ORGANIZATION_NAME]. This involved visiting primary schools and spreading child abuse awareness. I gained social and convincing communication skills from this experience.

Moreover, I was the team leader at [ORGANIZATION_NAME], where I led my team consisting of 5 members to win two trophies for smart idea presentations and best advertising. We showcased our smart idea as road lane detection and road signs detection for autonomous cars. This event helped me in developing my critical thinking, idea pitching and how I can support and manage the team. This gave me confidence that I can pursue the domain of Machine Learning and Data Science. In addition, I was the head volunteer at the Training and Placement cell of [INSTITUTION_NAME] for three years. As a result, I got the opportunity to network with companies which honed my communication skills. Also, I was the treasurer at CSE department [INSTITUTION_NAME], where I managed accounts and funds collected for any event. This helped me be more responsible and honed my managerial skills.

Moving forward, to gain experience, I joined an internship at [COMPANY_NAME] that will pave the way for my Computer Science career. We developed a system that permits entry to the customer only if they are wearing a mask, sanitized, and their body temperature is below the stipulated threshold value; otherwise, the entry is prohibited as it was a barricaded system. Other projects that I did included pulse oximeter, alcohol detection, and facial attendance. We installed many systems in local businesses, the ministry of Maharashtra, and small-scale industries. In addition, we also exported our system to different countries like Dubai and Malaysia. As a result, I gained technical knowledge, global exposure, corporate working, communication with culturally diverse team members and teamwork.

Furthermore, I also interned at a Robotic IT company on 'BI solution for docs.' This project aimed to achieve Data Security and Business Intelligence solutions. I was working on several tasks in this project: data labeling, building scripts for document extraction in Python, validating the extracted data, and classifying it. Then this data was showcased on the UI. I utilized every opportunity, which sharpened my technical skills (specifically EDA and Data Scraping) and expertise. The experience that I garnered by working on projects instilled practical skills in me. Currently, I am working as an Associate Software Engineer at [COMPANY_NAME]. I have been assigned to work on the backend and front end which includes working with Node JS, Nest JS and handling databases like MongoDB and Postgres.

Furthermore, I believe that there is a lot more for me to explore in the theoretical and practical part of data science, due to which I wish to pursue a Master of Applied Data Science from [UNIVERSITY_NAME]. This course will provide me with the training required in data collection, exploration, manipulation and storage, analysis, and presentation to navigate data-rich workplace environments. Core modules like Machine Learning and Data Mining and Discovery and Databases and Data Management attracted me the most. In addition, I would like to be a part of the [UNIVERSITY_NAME] Volunteer programs, which will enable me to give back to society and connect with people around me.
