Statement of Purpose

If one were to ask people who have known me what kind of a person I am, they would surely tell them that I am diligent, ethical, visionary, ambitious and would surely emphasize on "organized and conscientious" young woman. I reckon they would not be lying, though for me the most important characteristic is impartiality or to be just (as my name suggests). Now why is this most important you ask? Well, I would tell you that this world is becoming more arbitrary. People think and take decisions based on others' persuasions and are often influenced by people who are manipulative and are themselves misguided. I am a nutrition and dietetics student, but you would not expect me to have conversations like a philosophy student; yet here we are.

I am a nutrition and dietetics student and I do not believe I belong in any other stream. Since I was a little girl I wanted to do something for the people around me. I have seen many close ones suffering and even losing their lives because of some petty medical condition which could have been cured if they had a better diet and lifestyle. I could not do anything then so I am willing to do everything that can be done to prevent people from withdrawing this premium membership of an expensive club called "Life" over a simple mistake.

I am a woman with technical aptitude and interest in human nutrition, and as much as I would love to treat others, I have a great love for food, and I have the capability to eat all day long but my discipline prevents me to do so. Along with that I also have a passion for traveling. All these characteristics and the experiences in my life have given me a better and clearer outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of fields and topics. I understand that it would be hard for one to relate how these additional qualities affect my work but I assure them that all of these traits of mine are what makes me "ME" and I am proud to be the person that I have turned out to be. I have never missed an opportunity in life and have always shined in a crowd with my efficiency and exclusive personality. I have never let down my team (whenever put in one), nor have I ever slacked behind to complete a task efficiently on time when working alone.

My bachelor's degree has helped me establish a strong foundation. My analytical skill and my internship have given me enough practical experience to work effectively under immense pressure, high complexity and in less time frame. During my time in university, I have learnt and adapted plenty of skills and I have also discovered how good I am with time management.

In my bachelor's degree I opted for Human Physiology, Human Nutrition, Biochemistry, Food Science, Food Chemistry, Clinical Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy, Microbiology, Database, Dietetics, Sports and Exercise Physiology, Community Nutrition, Nutrition in Emergencies, Maternal and Child Nutrition, Soft Skills, Public Health and Epidemiology, and many other nutrition and dietetics related subjects.

In all the human and clinical related subjects, I got a deeper understanding of the human body's functionality and about diseases along with their pathophysiology which enabled me to efficiently plan meals (basic and therapeutic). In Biochemistry and Food Chemistry I developed a thorough understanding of micronutrients and macronutrients which helps me distinguish between the estimated amount of nutrients needed for patients with different medical conditions.

My bachelor's degree fulfilled 70% of my passion for learning and treating people with medical conditions by providing them an appropriate diet and the remaining 30% will be fulfilled by the highly standardized education system of your opulent and diverse university.

Now, I understand that for being a part of something big one must be worthy of it, and I believe I possess few of those skills which makes me as worthy of your time and efforts as Thor is for Mjolnir, and those skills are:

1. I know how to work in a group and with a group of people. This skill has often led me and my team to greater success. I believe in group goals more than in personal achievements, but that does not necessarily mean I do not appreciate personal achievements; I do.

2. When I am challenged individually in a professional or unprofessional manner to do something productive, I make sure that I transcend even the most creative minds.

3. I am a disciplined and motivated individual who is stubborn to achieve the goal, and more than that I am prone to lead people to that goal. I have proven to be a great leader for people with all levels of skillsets and different levels of motivation. No matter who it is, I have dragged and pushed them to the very edge to taste success and it brings me joy like nothing else could.

4. Communication is something that I might seem a little awkward about but that is surely not the case. I have never come across a "Soft Skill" lecturer who was not impressed with my choice of words and delivery. I believe this is the biggest flex.

5. I see that people struggle with decisions, often the reason being emotional barrier, professional barrier, lack of knowledge and experience and the most common one "risk-taking ability". I believe if one evaluates everything correctly and after a productive discussion with their respective team or friends/family, they can never miss any opportunity be it personal or professional.

6. Over the period, I have developed a good understanding of people around me and helping them bring the best out of them and along the way it helps me to become a better person. Also, I am good at motivating people.

7. I am a dedicated student who enjoys learning and that has helped me a lot as I can already prepare disease related meals so quickly and efficiently that my HOD (at [HOSPITAL_NAME], where I am an intern) gives a surprised look followed by the question "you prepared this right now?" It is a great experience.

I am currently working as a Consultant Dietitian at [COMPANY_NAME], which is a health and wellness company with millions of customers. My duty over there is to give consultations to the clients regarding weight loss and post-natal conditions.

Talking about my internship, I have been an intern at [HOSPITAL_NAME], [CITY]. My role over there was to spectate patients and to prepare meal plans for them. I have contributed in preparation of diet charts like diabetic, renal calculi, gestational diabetes, high protein, high fiber, weight reducing and juvenile diet charts. Also, to learn in depth about my duties as a dietitian.

My desired university is [UNIVERSITY_NAME] as it will provide me with the best education and deeper practical understanding of Clinical Nutrition.

I have always dreamt of living in United Kingdom and as I grew up I found professional and personal reasons to be more compelling and intriguing. Old buildings, modern lifestyle, professional work environment, freedom and independence, opportunities, and the weather makes it all so perfect. One should rather talk about why not to live in Europe as the cons are way less than pros.

In the first 2-3 years I see myself becoming an expert and master at my role as a dietitian. I plan to really immerse myself into the position, understand the areas of improvement and really get to know my efficiency to its best. Then I see myself working for a well-established hospital and MNCs ([COMPANY_NAME], [INSTITUTION_NAME]) as a dietitian right after my master's degree. For 2-3 years after that I see myself to extend my expertise and offer help in eradicating malnutrition using my skills and knowledge gained from my role and then setup a clinic of my own.

My long-term goal is to have a clinic and then eventually a hospital of my own. I am determined to work hard for it.

I wish I could do it all right away but there are few milestones I need to cross and those are as follows:

1. Proper and in depth understanding of my subject.

2. Expertise in practical implementation of my profession.

3. Establishment of a blueprint for my way to the desired goal.

4. My emotional barriers which do not occur regularly but occasionally. It does not necessarily prevent me to achieve my goal instead slows it down.

5. Thinking about end results more, over excitement, trying to be perfect all the time.
