Growing up in [CITY], I have grown up seeing imposing monuments left behind by the Kakatiya dynasty. I often visited these ancient fortresses, stone gateways, and temples and wondered about the exquisite architecture of that time. My interest in architecture took roots during these visits and has only grown by leaps and bounds since then. My interest in this field coupled with my problem-solving nature has played an instrumental role in helping me perform extremely well during my undergraduate program and the internship I underwent. Having completed my undergraduate degree, I now wish to further augment my knowledge in architecture and dive deeper into the field. Having studied my undergraduate degree in architecture in India, I now aspire to broaden my horizons and gain international exposure in the field, learn and explore architecture in a global context, and go beyond the basics of design and architecture taught at the undergraduate level. Thus my application to the Master in Architecture of [UNIVERSITY NAME].

A self-motivated person, I demonstrated my problem-solving and analytical skills right from school. Be it while solving complex mathematical problems or when working on group projects. As I grew up, I became convinced that the field of architecture was where my interest and aptitude lay and therefore started studying for a Bachelor in Architecture at [UNIVERSITY NAME] - a premiere school in [CITY]. Given my love and curiosity for architecture, I completely immersed myself in the undergraduate program and thoroughly enjoyed myself. During the undergraduate program, my proficiency in designing too became evident and I scored the top marks in my "Architectural design" and won many design competitions in my college too. I also learned architecture software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, 3Ds Max, Lumion, V ray, Enscape, Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator.

My thesis project was on "[PROJECT NAME]" and dealt with one of the most polluted rivers in India and my aim was to revitalize the [RIVER NAME] river banks and create recreational activities for the old city people where there is a lack of recreational spaces. In my thesis journey, I built on a wide range of technical, creative, practical, and strategic thinking skills. Thinking architecturally is really about how you identify problems, understand their components, and are able to re-conceptualize problems as opportunities and this project gave me an understanding of this.

Along with my academics, I was active in sports and was part of the University Volleyball Club, and also the Cricket Club. I also led both these clubs and helped organize activities, and promotional materials for events such as creating posters, flags, and presentation work. I also led one of the workshops at my university. Being a part of these activities helped me to develop my leadership and interpersonal skills.

Looking to further build on my practical exposure, I interned with [COMPANY NAME] and worked on varied cases that broadened my exposure tremendously. While renovating indoors of my customers, I employed my own ideas but took suggestions of my colleagues, professors, and superiors too. I have now started designing interiors and exteriors of hotels and resorts and am working on the planning section in Multiplex and Villas. My internship has taught me that understanding which design is effective and which one is impractical comes only with experience. I have been engaged with multi-faceted architectural projects under the mentorship of our experienced architects and trained professionals during this internship.

My experiences to date have made me understand that architects are constantly solving problems and that it is a challenge to consider all aspects of a building's needs, design elements, structural elements, aesthetics, and much more. But with correct training, we can implement our analytical and problem-solving skills to overcome these challenges and come up with spaces that not only meet the client's needs but are also sustainable at the same time.

Having completed my undergraduate degree, it is my deep desire to study for a Master's in architecture from an international university and get equipped with varied designs and techniques. Being passionate about my work, I thrive on challenges and constantly set goals for myself. This Master's program is in pursuit of my long-term goals as it would give me an opportunity to have international exposure while strengthening my abilities and getting better prepared for my goal of becoming a leading architect.

Pursuing my Master's in the UK will give me an opportunity to get a more in-depth understanding of local customs, habits, design characteristics, and architectural styles that I can later incorporate into my designs.

After going through a plethora of programs, I found [UNIVERSITY NAME]'s program to be the perfect match for my goals.
