When I take a step back and observe how our lives are shaped, I realise how much of it is governed by finance and accounting. It is quite unusual; money is the root of our problems and solutions. It is a blunt, yet truthful portrait of how our world works, which truly awakened something in me to get a bigger picture about how the corporate finance field works.

I was first interested in accounting and finance ever since my higher secondary years. I was able to extend this fixation when choosing a major for my college degree and my post-graduate diploma later on.

Learning about new things is something that I believe has no age bar. The global pandemic has given me time to think a lot about my future prospects. In that time, I realised that it would do me better if I honed my current skills and gained more knowledge about Finance and its impact on the world. I arrived at the decision to pursue my Masters in Finance, despite having an academic gap of 5 years.

I knew the only way to attain this goal was to pursue a Masters in Finance/Banking/Corporate Finance at [UNIVERSITY NAME]. I aspire to know more about real-world job responsibilities in finance, such as data analytics, risk management, capital allocation, and investment strategy. I wish to learn these skills in hopes of achieving a managerial position at a prestigious company soon after graduation.

I have four years of work experience as a senior tax consultant at [COMPANY NAME], where I prepare individual tax returns for US citizens. Prior to that, I worked in a start-up in [CITY NAME] managing the day-to-day financial activities and recording the same in software like Tally. Both opportunities helped stimulate my passion to continue my career in financial activities.

In any project I am given, I complete them with careful detail, precision, and structured planning. I believe I am a quick learner, so no challenge feels too overwhelming for me. I like to readily help others in need and work well in teams. I possess the confidence to overcome any obstacle that hinders my progress to achieve my dreams. I am good at communication, organisation, and planning. For my lifelong career, I would need more valuable connections than the ones I have now and attain the professional skills required to refine my abilities further. Though I have spent my entire life in India, a cultural shock upon reaching the UK is quite natural. But my penchant for travelling is another reason I would like to study at this University. Like I mentioned, I readily take on challenges and I am quite adaptable to any environment, while retaining my identity in the process.

I also believe that my naturally amiable and easy-going personality can help me adapt better to my classmates. I love to interact with a diverse range of people; this way I believe I can gain a perspective of cultural values that differ from my own. With my background, I would love to share my experiences with the rest of my classmates.

If I were given a chance at this University, I believe it would be instrumental in my journey to become a thought leader in the field of Finance.
