Statement of Purpose

"You don't learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing and by falling over." This quote by Richard Branson has followed me everywhere in my life so far. All that I have learned and improvised upon hinges on this very principle of life. You learn by doing things instead of just fantasizing about them. The key is to make your dreams turn into reality and your fantasies turn into truth. By far, I have been doing good in this aspect of life. I have always been that guy who urges me to go up on the stage and speak about important topics. I developed my interpersonal skills, including leadership, being coherent, analyzing the competency misses that an organization can suffer, making decisions at the eleventh hour, and being responsible for everything happening.

Around this time, I decided to pursue a career in the media to critically and effectively engage with the realities and challenges of the digital era. I wish to understand the flow of information and its political consequences, develop environmental debates from cultural and scientific perspectives, and communicate on ecological issues using various tools and strategies. I want to understand and examine the economic, managerial, legal, and cultural frameworks media organizations and industries operate in. I am looking forward to exploring how media interacts with and shapes contemporary culture and society in this academic program.

The process of observing opinions, ideas, speeches and then developing them within gives me a sense of fulfillment. Back in 2018, I started an organization within my school. It was called [ORGANIZATION_NAME], a small initiative by [ORGANIZATION]. In school, I could absorb all these TED Talks and speeches by successful people of the world. The organization that I started aimed to put forward the opinions of the students of the school. Moreover, the organization had many guest speakers to motivate students by talking about various concerning topics. I wanted to be in a conference with international leaders when I participated in the 15th and 16th Global Chief Justices Conference of the World as an audience member. In the 18th International Chief Justices Conference of the World, I was delegating Myanmar, wherein more than 100 presidents, vice presidents, mayors, governors, and leaders of the world were present. I even got personally addressed by the Governor of Myanmar. I have gained more exposure to varied platforms from my experiences.

My volunteer experiences include being the Head Teaching Assistant at [PROGRAM_NAME]. It is a unique international program aimed at teaching the early teens the habit of questioning and helping them discover their morality to answer these questions. I play Football at the national level; I have played state-level cricket as well. I was the Sports Captain of the student council of 23 members from over 1,600 students. I mediated between the student body and school administration to offer solutions and organize sports events in the school and resolve mutual concerns.

Given my immense technical knowledge and interpersonal skills, I consider this course perfectly suits me. I wish to make an intangible contribution to the comprehensive university experience. There is more to a university experience than the grades one gains and the content one learns. I wish to participate in voluntary work, extend support for the internal and external community.
