STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

# INTRODUCTION

"Better is nothing when best is expected"

The desire to excel has fueled my career, no matter what I do I aspire to be the best in the field. I always had a passion to work with computers and pursue a career in understanding their dimensions and impact. I was also fascinated by video games right from my childhood. As time passed, I began to consider computer science as a subject of my college education.

My education is marked with great competence. The curriculum provided me with a strong background in B. Tech. I was exposed to a variety of subjects. The principles that I imbibed and learnt through various subjects in the Bachelor of Technology have helped me in having a vision. This would help me in my professional life too. My participation in various coding competitions and seminars helped me to go for a depth of understanding and helped me to secure many prizes.

I have always secured good marks in my matriculation: 9.6 CGPA in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is followed by 94.3% in Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education (intermediate). I was ranked among the top 3.6% in one of the most prestigious exams in India, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE); almost 1.6 million students appear for this exam. Consequently, this rank secured me a seat in an Institution of National Importance under MHRD, Govt. of India, [UNIVERSITY_NAME] (Indian Institutes of Information Technology). Presently, I have a score of 73.3% in my graduation.

My excellent performance combined with my passion and dedication has urged me to work hard. I attended a workshop on AI and understood the impact it is going to have on my future. These factors collectively form the backdrop of my pursuing an overseas degree now.

My under graduation was in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), which is a hybrid of both computers and electronics, but now I want to change to Computer Science, as I find it to be more challenging as well as suited to my taste and way of thinking. To be a matter of fact, my university strives to make us prepare for the IT industry and my branch is no exception. So, I'm already well equipped with the computer knowledge which is required for masters. Computers have come to mark the present century and hold the promise to offer forward-looking and modern vision. This would enable me to participate in a knowledge-based activity and contribute my share in the progress of the world. This is the reason behind this course change.

# QUALITIES

My deep interest, attitude for studies, good reasoning, and efforts to strive for the best, has always guided me on the path of success. I gathered substantial knowledge of the fundamentals of Computer Science and my teachers began to serve as my ideals in a big way. I became interested in pursuing my goals seriously and aim at contributing to the wellness of mankind in the days to come. I have acquired skills and now plan to attain widespread exposure in Computer Science. I am oriented towards solving problems and aim to acquire new skills. I keep myself abreast with the rapid changes and the latest trends that occur in Computer Technology.

My undergraduate course has given me a comprehensive knowledge of the basic areas in data structures and algorithms, digital design, Programming Languages, Computer Networks, Language Processors and Artificial Intelligence. I made two projects implementing Neural Networks: a self-driving car, and a model to predict insurance claims. Moreover, as an intern, I worked in a startup named [COMPANY_NAME], where I worked on [COMPANY_NAME]'s website as a Full-stack developer using Reactjs, Django, Python and some other react modules. I am proficient in languages such as Python, C, C++, JavaScript, with trained knowledge on Full-Stack development, and libraries like Reactjs, a framework like Django, and databases like SQL.

# INSPIRATION

I have an enthusiastic friend and a cool professor who imbibed me with a vision and pursuit of knowledge. They together broadened my vision and help me to acquire the big picture involved in computer studies. By remaining positive in spite of hurdles and obstacles has impressed and inspired me in a big way.

# HOBBIES

Robotics, coding and computer games have been my hobbies and I feel that they reflect the true spirit of programming. I would like to emulate this trait. I participated in a Robotics workshop which is conducted in [EVENT_NAME] in my first year at [UNIVERSITY_NAME] (National Institute of Technology) [CITY]. I was ranked 1288 out of 8051 in Hacker Rank Hackfest 2020.
