STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Throughout my undergraduate education and professional experience, I have observed the proliferation of data in every domain. There is a dire need to infer patterns and make sense of the humongous data in hand to extract meaningful value out of it. For instance, upon witnessing an advertisement based on my interactions and search history, I was enthralled to discover how analytics can identify the correct target audience, thus, letting organizations reap larger profits. Additionally, I remember how during an internship, working on Sentiment Analysis for E-commerce Stores, I realized that data is what runs the company. The power of data and the dependency of organizations on it has enamored me for a long time now and I am excited to dive into its entirety.

Academic success was crucial for me during the period of my education at school and undergraduate program. I qualified for undergraduate studies with a high CGPA of 9.42/10. While studying as an Information Technology undergraduate at [UNIVERSITY_1], I gained a firm understanding of the fundamentals of various computer science concepts. I also gained expertise in the core modules of computer science such as Data Structures, Fundamentals of Computation, Data Science, and Data Mining. In the summer of 2016, I spent a week in [ADDRESS], where I was trained in 'Internet of Things' at [COMPANY_1]. I presented a project in 'Intelligent Farm', funded by [ORGANIZATION_1] in the following semester. I published a research paper on 'Pregnant Women Health Care Monitoring System Based on IoT' in [PUBLICATION_1] 2018. Subsequently, I presented a project in 'Health Care Monitoring', during my final semester.

This newfound interest solidified in me when I received the opportunity to work on Data applications while undertaking a project on Sentiment Analysis in context to specific E-commerce sectors during my internship at [COMPANY_2]. While at the company, I ensured to gain a wide experience of working with MySQL, Oracle, PowerCenter, and JasperSoft Studios. In over 6 months of my project work, I found myself curious to understand the nitty-gritty of not just data and analytics, but also the statistics behind it. At this juncture, I realized each domain has been encompassed by the term 'data' and 'analytics' in numerous ways. My current organization develops products that revolve around data and the idea is to gain mastery in the field. Ultimately, my experiences so far have led me to decide on undertaking a master's education in Business Analytics and take my career in an exciting new direction.

Post this stint, I was offered a full-time role as an Associate Curriculum developer and went on to become the Curriculum Developer at [COMPANY_2], my current role in the organization. Working on Data Engineering Integration, Data Privacy management, Data Exchange and Enterprise Data Catalogue, Enterprise Data Preparation, and Master Data Management, I gained a good experience of working with data tools, data resources and DBMS systems. I designed curriculum and developed courses for Instructor based training and delivered sessions to [COMPANY_2] Instructors and Partners. To further broaden my knowledge base, I enrolled myself in courses related to R Program and Python which have enabled me to move ahead on my professional timeline. In a short span of time, my work at the organization was awarded an Award for Excellence.

My experiences in the IT sector have helped me see the growing importance of data-based services in the coming years. Taking an example from my internship project, I could easily see how the grocery stores that utilized our data-based store profiles (made using sentiment analysis) consistently increased their sales as compared to their competitors. In this program, I wish to explore the dynamic field of big data analytics, predictive analytics and machine learning in-depth to derive business intelligence from an intricate mosaic of data. Now that I shed light upon my upcoming goals, I realize how a Master's in Business Analytics would help me convert my visions to reality. I aspire to enter the technology industry as a Business Analyst wherein I can help companies maintain a strong engagement rate, identify the correct audience base and thus achieve the organizational objectives. I want to develop the knowledge and skills critical to businesses around the world today and learn to navigate a global landscape. In the long run, I want to build my own startup where I intend to gather the best of minds and deliver innovative and specific services for Business Growth and Development.

While academic pursuits have helped me develop my congenial abilities, extracurriculars have aided the transformation of my leadership, management and planning abilities. My interest in participating in tech competitions and innovative team projects also led me to learn crucial IT skills and I developed a command over programming languages like C, C++ and JAVA by undertaking certificate courses affiliated with [UNIVERSITY_2]. Being a member/event-coordinator at the college events committee I helped organize the National Symposium and got to meet some of the most amazing people and students from all over India. My academic performance and extra-curricular participation at the college helped me win awards like the Best Women Achiever Award for two consecutive years 2017 and 2018.

Nonetheless, a Master's Degree in Business Analytics from [UNIVERSITY_3] is my primary choice for a multitude of reasons. The University's research ventures, and excellent curriculum go hand in hand with my interests, and I hope to learn and contribute to these endeavors. I hope to form a long-lasting network at [UNIVERSITY_3] and partake in forming a vibrant international student community.
