Statement of Purpose

It so happens that I want to take up the most crucial role in the systematic structure of civilization—that of managing, enabling, and promoting an ethical and effective workforce. In other words, I want to be a catalyst in producing the best human resources to drive the wheel of economy. How did the thought get implanted would be an important journey to mention in my purpose statement for taking up higher education in the field of International Business with Human Resource Management.

It all started with me being the problem solver, anchor, and contact point for all my friends, as I would often organize meetings, interact and be aware of each one's requirements and their priorities at a given point of time. Having studied in [SCHOOL_NAME] to complete my high school, I have interacted and was educated with a good mix of crowd from all cultural and economic backgrounds of the society. The school apart from providing high quality of education also focuses on the overall development of a student that has given me the opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities like singing competitions, Olympiads, International Spelling Bee and was also chosen as the house captain of school curricular activities in Class XII. This early experience has given me ample insights into human behaviour and human interactions in varied environments.

Moreover, my college education has been a Bachelor's in Commerce from [COLLEGE_NAME]. Even though the college was located in my city it had crowds from different regions. By virtue of this, I got an opportunity to interact with students from different parts of the country who gave me a renewed sense of economic life from their regions. We would often discuss together how one place is different from the next one in terms of its hospitality, cultural experiences, and economic patterns of investment and expenditure. This also opened new vistas for me to know people as I was looking for the hospitality sector in my span of career.

Academically, topics such as accounting, marketing, economics, corporate governance, and management principles gave me a sense of practical business propositions and a possible structure for an organization to function. During the final year I led a group of three students to undertake a project on 'The Market Analysis of Used Cars with special reference to [CITY]'. From connecting with people from all strata of life to choosing French as my second language, college was really a different learning experience. I successfully completed my under graduation with 8.6 CGPA, while the experience and skills I acquired could never be measured in a band of marks.

Following my graduation I decided to pursue a diploma in Aviation, Hospitality and Travel Management from [INSTITUTE_NAME]. Subjects covered in the course included Communication skills, Personality Development, Grooming, Handling different types of guests etc. Interactive teaching and endless activities including presentations, debates, group discussions, swimming, yoga, skits etc. truly developed me as a person and improved my social skills. A whole new experience where I got to use my polished skills and personality to become a supportive member of the front desk which is the face of a hotel.

No two days are ever the same in hospitality. From performing all the administrative and clerical tasks to providing excellent customer service, the job was mentally and physically demanding yet fun in itself, interaction with guests from across the world making it more special. Being a point of communication, complete knowledge about the hotel services, amenities and events were vital for scheduling the daily operations and coordinating with other departments. Working in a fast-paced environment really developed my time management and multitasking skills. The job definitely gave a skill set that is applicable to any business. Hence I wanted to find a job which matches my skills set more where I could use my strengths to its full potential with growth opportunities.

However, my journey towards advancement, education, and profession received a thud due to the pandemic that engulfed the entire world. Amid the pandemic I decided to help my cousins with their studies by preparing notes and clearing doubts on a regular basis. During my studies and work time I've seen myself holding accountable and demonstrating responsibility for any given group tasks and I have effortlessly motivated those with me to accomplish things on time. All these activities made me realize that becoming an enabler who make others better is the best option for me. I believe leading potential people to find a workplace where they can thrive adds something to the society we live in.

I decided that the best course of action would be to go for a specialized course in the subject area. I wanted to master the practical skills not just with respect to one nation but globally with multi-cultured people. The UK is most definitely multicultural and popular with the international students. The universities are renowned for high academic standards and the courses in the UK education system are shorter and more intensive than many other countries. While language is an important thing to consider when studying abroad, English being the medium of communication in the UK there will probably be no language barrier.

The MSc Business with Human Resource Management with Advanced Practice will help me to develop a broad range of business skills while focusing on Human Resource Management context. The course content will help me to gain a new understanding on how Human Resource Management can add value to individual and organizational goals, financing, marketing strategies, organizational behaviour etc. The learning activities will enable me to increase my self-awareness and develop my practical business skills such as communication, team working etc. The Advanced Practice element will also give me the opportunity to gain experience of the real world issues.

As a master of my trade, I am sure I would make a spectacular human resource professional and return to my home country to establish an organisation that has a culmination of revolutionary work cultures! Waiting to learn, serve and grow already at your eventful campus, I rest my case.
