STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I give credit to my excellent instructors, mentors, and the momentous events of my life that have shaped me to be what I am today. Striving for holistic development, I have always been a hardworking, competitive, and eager student. I soon realized that Mathematics is my forte and I participated in a variety of mathematical quizzes and exhibits. I also participated in a 'Junior Internship Programme', which was launched by [ORGANIZATION_1] in collaboration with my school. I studied important consumer issues like misleading advertisements, junk food, etc. under the guidance of an experienced mentor. I excelled in both scholastic and co-curricular activities at school, such as Judo and Shotput, representing my school at the district, state, and national levels. Dance gave me a venue for my creativity and with diligent practice, I won the [AWARD_NAME] for the 'Best Dancer'. My academic abilities are reflected in the fact that in the 10th grade I got an overall 8.6 CGPA and a 9 CGPA in Mathematics. In the 12th grade, I scored 87.8% overall (Science Stream - Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English, Computer Science), and scored 93% in Mathematics.

Following my passion for Mathematics, I enrolled for under graduation at [UNIVERSITY_1], one of the top universities of [CITY_1]. Of all the subjects that I studied, I found Calculus and Differential Equations to be extremely interesting. I learned Core Calculus, Differential Equations, Multivariate Calculus, Partial Differential Equations, Numerical Methods, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Programming, Probability and Statistics.

My first internship was at an NGO called '[ORGANIZATION_2]'. It is a leadership movement aimed at igniting the social consciousness of youth. It motivated me to work hand-in-hand to bring about real social change in our nation and simultaneously provided opportunities to enhance my leadership qualities. My second internship was for a period of 2 months when I taught students of a government school of [LOCATION_1]. Here, I learned how to manage 8-10-year-old children. To expand my knowledge, I attended a workshop on 'Game Theory-Graph Theory' and a seminar on 'Financial Derivatives and Options'. Please refer to my CV for my other extra-curricular activities. Due to my exemplary performance, I completed the program with 1st division securing an 8.568 CGPA.

My passion to educate and my father's inspiration led me to want to try my hand at teaching. Therefore, I am currently pursuing a degree of Bachelor's in Education (B.Ed), with an emphasis on Mathematics and English. I have completed my first year and am awaiting the results. In this time, I have gained expertise in teaching mathematics and my talents and strengths have been enhanced. Under the guidance of the Principal of [INSTITUTION_1], I have written a research paper titled 'Effective Management of the Virtual Classroom' for [JOURNAL_1] which is to be published soon and myself wrote the paper "Importance and Application of Mathematics in Everyday Life" for [JOURNAL_2] (Published). With my teaching experience, I got an opportunity to work at [ORGANIZATION_3], [CITY_1], to teach Mathematics to 6th-8th-grade students. Working under the supervision of specialists gave me a lot of experience, which helped me develop my teaching abilities.

In addition, I interned with [ORGANIZATION_4] in the sales and marketing area. [ORGANIZATION_4] is an online mentorship platform where young achievers from all around the world coach kids in their areas of interest and passion. Here, I took up the challenge of using my talents in the marketing field. Throughout the internship, I got frequent marketing and business development training in areas such as Business Analytics, Data Analytics and Python, and garnered information in development seminars. My earnest efforts gained me a letter of appreciation as well as a letter of recommendation.

I now have the chance to grow, imbibing scientific and technical advances that influence us every day. I hope to enroll in an MS in Mathematics and Statistics program to study from the finest and to access a higher level of education, especially in areas of Mathematics, Statistics and Data Analysis. Studying at the prestigious [UNIVERSITY_2] will not only be a once-in-a-lifetime chance for me but it would also allow me to explore the worldwide employment market. Through apprenticeships, internships, and projects, I will be able to put theory into practice while also furthering my education. Deciding to make learning a lifelong effort would not only benefit my personal and professional growth but also my employability and self sustainability. A Master's degree in Mathematics would enable me to apply for advanced positions and make me a valued addition to my organization. Although an individual's identity is comprised of far more than their educational or professional achievements, a Master's degree is an accomplishment I would be proud of. Receiving a Master's degree from [UNIVERSITY_2] will boost my confidence immensely and I would be able to give my best to my profession.

On the completion of the Master's program, I am looking at career options such as being a Subject Matter Expert, Mathematician, Statistician, Banking or Operational Research-mathematical programming Analyst, Optimization, Data Analyst, or Professor/Lecturer.
