STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

[NAME] [EMAIL]

My mother once said, "only a handful of people are born knowing what they want to do, while the huge majority spend a significant portion of their lives searching for their passion". I have been a part of the latter group, and so spent much of my teenage years exploring, testing, and trying out various avenues to find my labor of love. Indeed, every activity I participated in equipped me with a distinct skill-set and the journey shaped me into a more consummate and multi-dimensional individual. However, exposure to both computer science, as well as investment banking, forced me to think innovatively, while fostering a diverse perspective.

Since my school, I have been fascinated with data and technology. Automation and innovation proliferated in the techno world during those times and transformed India from a low-tech manufacturing base into a technology-based economy. Intrigued by the practical applications of programming languages and algorithms behind then-emerging apps—[APP_NAME], [APP_NAME]—I wanted to understand the foundational theory behind the processes and therefore took up an undergraduate program in Computer Science Engineering in 2015.

It was during the second year of my undergraduate, when I represented Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) student branch of my college at the R10 SYWLC conference where I got an incredible opportunity to network with remarkably skillful people across the Asia-Pacific region. Having the chance to connect one-on-one with young entrepreneurs, discussing marketing strategies and using technologies for providing solutions to daily life challenges, I discovered my interest in the business domain. In the same year, my interest grew profoundly to the extent that I joined the organizing committee of the All India Student-Young Professionals-Women in Engineering Congress (AISYWC) to sharpen my managerial skills and presented my poster on "Being the Change: Switch Digitally". A year later in 2017, I was able to demonstrate my leadership and management skills as chairperson of my college's IEEE student branch, by leading a team of 25 students and being awarded the IEEE Delhi SAC Outstanding Student Volunteer Award. The degree helped me to develop an analytical approach toward life's fundamentals.

After my graduation in May 2019, I joined [COMPANY_NAME]. After working with an Investment Bank, I have had a taste of strategies and decision-making up close in a globally competitive market. As a QA analyst in the Oracle Fusion project, I communicated with stakeholders and project managers globally, where I independently managed the system design, infrastructure development, functional & regression testing, and defect cycles through the project, thus helping me to upskill myself in tools such as JIRA, Power BI, ERP, Control-M, and ODI. It was here that I understood the functionality of JIRA which further helped me to grab an opportunity of organizing forums to impart knowledge on the JIRA management process to 70+ professionals across [CITY], [CITY], and India. It was my exemplary commitment to the project that earned me the [COMPANY_NAME] Spot Award in 2020.

After just a year and a half at the firm, I was promoted to Senior Associate in 2021. Following this, I built business KPIs that reduced the manual effort by 10 hours weekly. Currently, I have been working with the Data Analytics team to support the global service desk. My role involves translating, analyzing, and sorting data as per business requirements to provide end-to-end solution design via the Alteryx tool. Apart from my above role, I am a part of the management committee for [ORGANIZATION_NAME], where we have coordinated fundraising events for the welfare of intellectually disabled kids in rural areas and collected up to INR 2 lacs ($2650) in 2020 and INR 2.75 lacs ($3630) in 2021.

My short-term goal is to be a Marketing Analyst for a leading tech industry where I can foster my analytical skills and business knowledge. It will help me to accelerate towards my long-term goal of driving the business for entrepreneurs. Ultimately, I aim to help transform raw ideas into fine products that will help solve large societal problems. I believe an MBA degree would be the best route to achieve my goals. Not only will it be a boost in achieving my objectives but will also help me to develop an insight into managerial practices in identifying and assessing new market opportunities.
